According to CNN, the white house has received petitions asking for the construction of the death star as well as the cancelation of Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Within recent days, Netflix has reportedly added at least 26 movies to their repitaour. Molly Shea Staff Writer pieces of music, I also love the music theme for this year's concert," said sophomore Rain Garcia. Notes and Noodles as a whole is one of the Band Classes larger fundraisers they do. The band usually puts on 10 to 15 fundraisers a year but this one is expected to rack up around 2,000 dollars all going to the band program. At this fundraiser you can expect pretty much what the name of it is. For 8 bucks a person you get a spaghetti dinner and a Disney themed concert put on by 75 of the high schools band members which the band practices 5 days a week to prepare for. "People will definitely enjoy this year's show, and I'm sure because it's being Disney themed it will attract both older and younger crowds. This year's dinner and concert will be much bigger It's that time of year again...RBHS's 2014 Winter Formal is just around the corner. With students scrambling to get their formal gear, appointments made, and dinner reservations in check, it can be a hectic two weeks. Some are still looking for that special person to accompany to the formal but time is running out quickly leaving students stressed. This year's winter formal theme is "Winter Wonderland" with dazzling silver and white with a hint of blue for decorations. Jane Kinner who is in charge of decorations said, "I hope everyone actually notices the decorations and appreciates them. I want everyone to have a really great time." Two girls were asked where their favorite place to shop for winter formal was. Junior, Jordan Vazquez said, "My favorite places to shop for formal is Windsor for my dress, Heel and Sole for my shoes, and Wink and Plum Crazy for my jewelry." Another student, Bailey Akins replied a little different with, "My favorite places to shop for winter formal would have to be Macy's and other downtown stores in San Francisco." As for boys, Red Bluff's local Wink store on 332 Oak St. is a popular place to order your tux. It is $100-$140 to rent a tuxedo, the majority of high school boys tend to choose modern or slim fit as their style. It is common to see boys wearing chucks or vans as their choice in shoes. Hannah Woodall was asked if it was stressful setting up for formal. She said, "It could possibly get stressful if someone does not follow through with their job. Other than that, I don't think anything really can go wrong, we picked a simple but classy theme which also helps make it less stressful!" The senior class is recognized for their hard work into making this year's 'Winter Wonderland' happen! Winter Formal will be held at the Community Center on 1500 S Jackson St. just as years' prior. The dance begins at 9:00 p.m. and ends at 12:00 p.m. Horses; they're beautiful and elegant, aren't they? That reminds me, it's the Chinese New Year today! Welcome to the year of the Horse, Red Bluff High! For those of you lucky enough to have been born in 2014, 2002, 1990, and so on, it's finally your year again. The question really is; what does it mean to be a horse? Well, the Chinese zodiac says that if you're a horse, then you have natural leadership and are fit for a position of authority, at least according to www. huffingtonpost.ca. Unfortunately, you might accidentally rub people the wrong way due to your possible impulsiveness. So, working in places like stock market is a bad idea. Also, health conditions don't look well, so being in positions like janitors or cleaning people are not the best choice. Some things that even the Internet doesn't know is that you will be a horse in your dreams and start craving horse food. You know, like apples and carrots. If you're lucky, you get the physical strength of the horse, which is why your health will not be at its prime this year. Hey, one strong aspect of yourself comes at the cost of having a weak point, right? Everyone has their weaknesses, so don't worry, since it's only your weakness for a year. As for those of you worried about next year, it's the sheep up next. Clearly, you need to look up sheep characteristics next year, but let's be honest, not many of us current Red Bluff High Schoolers were born in either of these years. Then again, some of you may have a younger sibling, parent, or other relatives who were born in the year of the Horse, so this may actually be very useful for you guys. Remember, your year will come again and again because the Chinese zodiac repeats every twelve years. If you are a tiger, it isn't a once-in- a-lifetime thing. The same goes for anyone in any other year. Thank you to those who donated blood! The blood drive that was held yesterday in the media center was expected to have 80-90 participants. There have been 90 blood drives on campus and 5,000 units of blood have been collected to help those in need. The next blood drive on campus will be April first. Blood drives are a great way for students to give back to the community, learn a little about staying healthy, and get a free shirt. If you missed out on donating yesterday you can donate in April. Please plan on drinking water and eating a snack before you give blood. You must sign in and sign out when go to give blood or you will be marked with an unexcused absence. Donating is a great way for you to help people in need in the community. In the past Red Bluff High School was the school to donate the most blood in the North State. We are the only school that puts on three blood drives per year. Null encourages everyone to donate and all you need is to be at least sixteen years of age and have a parental consent form along with a picture ID. Things that could keep you from donating include, but are not limited to getting Tattoos in the last year, having traveled out of the country in the last year, being sick in the last 48 hours, weighing less than 110 lbs, forgetting to bring the parent consent form, and not having a photo ID. Key club helps out during these events and it is strictly student volunteers who help the blood source workers put the blood drive on in the media center. Red Bluff High School has held blood drives on campus since 1989. Null has been the coordinator for students to go see about volunteering and to sign up in his room for the last five years. After donating if you want BloodSource will mail you a blood donor card what will tell what blood type you are. Fewer than 1 in 10 Americans actually donate their blood. Be the one out of ten! compared to last years, and is expected to be a lot of fun for everyone who attends. Some of the band members are excited for it this year and feel prepared. "I don't feel nervous at all, last year it was fun and exciting but we didn't have as many songs as this year so I'm expecting this year to be better," said Garcia. It is held on the 31 st of January holding two concerts at the Red Bluff Community Center. One at 5 pm and the other at 7 pm. Tickets can be bought in the main office by Melanie Burke. "Make sure to buy them early because they tend to sell out fast," suggested Mr. Sakuma. Bluffer/ Molly Shea Bluffer/ Ceighlee Fennel Blood Drive succeeds in giving blood to those in need
