Wanda Glover, a Certified Nursing Assistant at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center (CPNC), has been recognized as a Fabulous 50 honoree by the North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association (NCHCFA). “CPNC is very lucky to have such a dedicated and caring employee. We truly appreciate everything she does for our resi- dents,” said Charlotte Young, Administrator, Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. Wanda Glover Honored With Fabulous 50 Award Wanda Glover Glover received her award during a ceremony at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Asheville on October 19, 2010. The Association presented her with a lapel pin, a monetary award, and a certificate signed by Governor Beverly Perdue. “Wanda Glover has worked at CPNC for 16 years. She was nominated for this award because she always goes above and beyond to help the residents and the staff in any way,” said Angela Moses, Director of Nursing at CPNC. Leadership among other staff is one of the qualities that earned Glover the award nomination. She acts as mentor for new nursing assistants and continues to coach them after the orientation period ends. She makes sure her co-workers have the information they need to provide excellent care to the residents. “She is compassionate, kind, energetic, fun to work with, displays a professional attitude, and is well liked by her peers. Other staff members say that Wanda is very deserving of this award because she gives so much to everyone. She puts other people’s needs before her own,” said Moses. CPNC frequently takes its residents on outings to the county fair, the Southern Christmas Show and other places. On her days off Glover often volunteers to go with residents on these outings to provide assistance. 105 T.R. Harris Drive | Shelby, NC 28150 | 704-487-5225 853 S. Each year NCHCFA selects 10 Nurse Aide representatives from each of its five districts across the state to receive Fabulous 50 awards. The North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association (NCHCFA) is an active network of more than 380 licensed nursing homes throughout the state.
