Charles Auer/Freeman Staff Linda Sarner, left, talks with members of a cancer survivors support group, Georgia Hickey, Pat Martinez and Sharon Muente, during a meeting at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital recently. Coping with Cancer support group is one of the only weekly programs in the area. Patients exchange advice on how to cope with chemotherapy, skin reaction to radiation and even how to talk with children about cancer. "Patients get so much from each other," Sarner said. Werner said she also received a lot of help from the nursing staff during her treatment. "The nurses were very helpful to me," Werner said. "They will talk to you as long as you need to talk to them. I lost my mother during this time, and they were there for me then too."
