While this game was very popular in the 1950s, there's new interest in learning it again! Taught by Suzette Proffit, the group will meet on Monday, August 14, 21, and 28 from 12 Noon to 3 pm. It will meet in the Rec. Room. The class is free of charge, though it's suggested that all participants donate a weekly $2 fee to help with the costs of water, power, etc. To pre-register, please call the Neal Senior Center 704/482-3488 Simply provide your name and phone number to the receptionist and you will be contacted with additional information about the group. Jeff Melton photo 1 stick of butter or margarine 1 cup of milk 1 cup of sugar 1 cup of fl our 1 tsp of baking powder A dash of salt 1 qt. of sweetened peaches (may use cherries, blackberries etc.) Melt the butter in a 9x13 baking pan, then in a bowl, mix together: fl our, sugar, baking powder, salt and milk and pour over the butter. Cover the batter with fruit and do not stir, the batter will rise and will absorb the fruit fl avor. In a preheated oven to 350°, bake the pie for 1 hour and serve it warm with whipped cream or ice cream! Peach Cobbler
