RONALD BAXLEY Ronald "Ron" Baxley, 65, of Kings Mountain, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023. Born in Hopkinsville, KY he was the son of the late James and Katherine Geraldine Luckey Baxley. He is survived by his wife, Laura Mathis Baxley of the home; daughters, Jennifer Shehan and husband Heath of Kings Mountain and Amber Rochette and hus- band Jason of Knoxville; sister, Karen Dunn and husband John of Kings Mountain; brother, Steven Baxley and wife Carolyn of Charlotte; four grandchil- dren; mother-in-law, Shirley Caveny Mathis of Kings Mountain. Born at home on November 16, 1925 in Cherryville, she was the daughter of the late Lawson Carpenter and Bertie Biggerstaff Carpenter. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin Finley; second hus- band, Alvin Sherlin; daugh- ter, Betty Jean Finley; two brothers, Harvey and Don Carpenter; and a sister, Jane Haney Ledford. Left to cherish her life and memory are two daughters, Jackie Ring and Brenda Warlick (David); step- daughter, Laura Jones; nine grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Watford was born on June 27, 1952 in Grove Hill, AL. She was a daughter of the late William Earl Bozeman and Verla Lee Johnson Hall. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mickey Watford.
