Entertainment Now | June 3 - 9, 2023 By Raye Smith TV Media WHAT'S NEW ON NETFLIX "Never Have I Ever" - Sea- son 4 Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, "Turning Red," 2022) and her friends return for their greatest adventure yet — senior year — when the fourth and final sea- son of "Never Have I Ever" pre- mieres Thursday, June 8, on Net- flix. In this coming-of-age story based on series co-creator Min- dy Kaling's ("The Office") own teenage years, modern-day, first-generation Indian Ameri- can teenager Devi deals with young love, friendships and con- tinuing grief from losing her fa- ther in the first season. As Devi and her best friends, Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez, "Class of Lies") and Eleanor (Ramona Young, "DC's Legends of Tomorrow"), encounter all kinds of new mile- stones in their lives and grapple with the college admissions pro- cess, prom prep and their im- pending graduation, they're still bound to hit a roadblock or two. Michael Cimino ("Love, Victor") joins the cast as bay boy Ethan this season, while returning cast members include Darren Barnet ("Love Hard," 2021), Jaren Lew- ison ("Tag," 2018), Benjamin Norris ("Superstore"), Niecy Nash ("The Rookie: Feds"), Ri- cha Moorjani ("Fargo"), Poorna Jagannathan ("The Night Of"), Megan Suri ("Atypical") and Ranjita Chakravarty ("It's a Mis- match," 2009), with profession- al tennis legend John McEnroe returning to his role as series narrator. "Arnold" Hot on the tail of the release of his new series "FUBAR," fans of the Governator can get even more "Arnold" when the new three-part biographical docuse- ries lands Wednesday, June 7, on Netflix. Chronicling the life of former professional bodybuilder, actor, filmmaker, businessman and politician Arnold Schwar- zenegger, from his childhood in the Austrian countryside to the American limelight, "Arnold" features a series of candid inter- views with Schwarzenegger, his friends, foes, co-stars and ob- servers. From his days in the bodybuilding scene to his suc- cess in the Terminator film fran- chise and his time as the gover- nor of California, the series takes a deeper look at the man behind the rock-solid, larger- than-life persona. Produced by Allen Hughes ("The Book of Eli," 2010), "Arnold" is directed by Lesley Chilcott ("Helter Skelter: An American Myth"). "Tour de France: Un- chained" - Season 1 Experience all the pain, endur- ance and glory of the world of professional cycling in "Tour de France: Unchained," when the se- ries makes its Netflix debut Thurs- day, June 8. From the producers of "Formula 1: Drive to Survive," over eight episodes this new se- ries closely follows the riders, team managers and everyone in between as they prepare to take on the world's most famous bike race. Biking 3,328 kilometers through the French Alps, 176 rid- ers compete, but only one will earn the yellow jersey for the Tour's 109th edition. From the preparation phase to the finish line in Paris and all the hard work and sacrifice in between, "Un- chained" gives cycling fans new and old a backstage pass to eight iconic teams, including AG2R Citroën Team, Alpecin-Fenix, EF Education-EasyPost, Groupama- FDJ cycling Team, Ineos Grena- diers, BORA-hansgrohe, Team Jumbo-Visma and Team Quick- Step Alpha Vinyl. "Tex Mex Motors" - Season 1 Turning junkers into classic jewels, these car restoration pros are putting their own spin on the process in "Tex Mex Motors," premiering Friday, June 9, on Netflix. With affordable classic cars becoming an increasingly rare find in the United States, a shop set up in El Paso, Texas, right on the Mexican border, is on a mission to bring up the "forgotten and undervalued classics" (per the official trailer) that sit in junkyards across Mexi- co. Making the trip across the border to bring back some gems in the rough, the team turns these dented, rusted beauties into one-of-a-kind masterpieces ready for a new life on the road.
