Maxine was born Friday, June 20, 1947 in Rutherford County to the late Julius Faye Greene and Margaret Shelton Arrowood. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her stepdad, Elvis Arrowood; stepmoth- er, Ella Mae Greene; two daughters, Myra Kelly and Melissa Greene; stepson, Joseph Scott McKinney; and a brother, J.B. Greene. MARTHA BARBARA WRIGHT DAVIDSON Martha Barbara Wright Davidson, 87, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022. Born in Cleveland County on July 6, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Mary Rosalee Click Wright and Theodore Roosevelt "T.R." Wright. In addition to her par- ents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband, William "Harley" Davidson; son, Teddy Davidson; and an infant brother, Bobby Lee Wright. Martha is survived by her two children, Hayley Lowery and husband, Jason of Shelby; son, Bobby Davidson of Hendersonville; brothers: Jerry Wright and wife, Juanita of Shelby, and Zeno Wright and wife, Donna of Cary, seven grand- children; five great grand- children; her brother-in-law, Carroll Davidson and his wife, Sharolyn; and sister-in- law, Karen Davidson. A funeral service was held October 28, 2022 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Cal Robertson officiating. Burial followed the service at Cleveland Memorial Park. Born in Cleveland County, NC on November 4, 1954, she was the daughter of the late James Robert Wray and Joanne Whisnant Wray. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Wray Peeler. RAY BUTLER HERNDON Ray Butler Herndon, 82, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on October 26, 2022. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late William Frank and Evelyn Dixon Herndon and was pre- ceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Herndon, brother, Roy Herndon, a grandson, and a great granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Jean Moore Herndon, of the home; sons: Mark Herndon and wife Debbie, Kings Mountain, NC and Chris Herndon and wife Mary, Orlando, FL; brother, Coyt Herndon, Polkville, NC; four grandchildren and a great grandchild. He was born October 8, 1925, a son of the late Thomas Lawson Dedmon and Verdie Horn Dedmon. He is survived by his son, Rodney Kevin Dedmon, Sr., and wife, Myra Royster Dedmon; two grandsons; and three great grandsons, all of Shelby. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Spangler Dedmon; brother, Thomas Hal Dedmon; and sister, Lou Jean D.Hamrick. Mr. Dedmon served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
