Born in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late JP Hart Sr. and Georgia Hartsell Hart. Mrs. Shepperson served our country in the U.S. Navy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Shepperson Sr.; and ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Shepperson of Shelby; sons, John Shepperson Jr. and wife Kirstin of Greensboro and David Shepperson and wife Eileen of Reidsville; sister, Sue Lewis of Cramerton; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held October 25, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Tim Sims officiat- ing. Burial, with military hon- ors, followed in Cleveland Memorial Park. Michael Daugherty, Sr., age 75, of Mooresboro, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2022. Michael was born Sunday, June 1, 1947 in Ann Arbor, MI, to the late Raymond Daugherty and Ila Davy Daugherty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Tinker and two grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Daugherty; daughter, Lisa Honeycutt (Jason) of Rutherfordton; son, Michael Daugherty, Jr. (Stephanie) of Ellenboro; sister, Diane Rockwell (Don) of Raleigh; stepbrother, Joe Graham of Michigan; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Shytle; three siblings, Bertha Hamrick, Bill Shytle, Louise Canipe and his daughter, Marsha Babb. Mr. Shytle served our country in the United States Army. Gene is sur- vived by his wife, Linda Morrison; son, Chip Shytle and wife, Evelyn of Laurinburg, NC; six grand- children and fourteen great grandchildren.
