A-8 Wednesday, September 14, 2022 The Press-Dispatch Holman charged with OVWI By James Capozella Press-Dispatch News news@pressdispatch.net A traffic stop in front of the Petersburg Police Station on Main Street by Officer Tony Neal resulted in the arrest of Jayton R. Holman, 25, 168 N Autumn Ln., Apt 3, Peters- burg for OVWI with a BAC of 0.08 or more. Holman was driving a car without a functional plate light around 1a.m. Tuesday, Sep- tember 6. Officer Neal was assisted by Pike County Sher- iff's Deputy Clint Boger, who conducted field sobriety tests after the odor of an alcohol- ic beverage was detected on Holman. Deputy Boger repor ted that Holman was breathing heavily, had red, glossy, wa- ter y eyes and had slurred speech. Holman said he had not consumed alcohol in the last four hours but did have shots of Jim Beam and Fire, according to the repor t. Hol- man failed field sobriety tests and recorded a .127 BAC on the Por table Breath Test (PBT). Approximately 30 minutes later Holman provided sam- ples for a certified Chemical Test (CCT) which resulted in a .127 BAC. Holman was then incarcer- ated on charges of operating a vehicle with a BAC of 0.08 or more. Cannon charged with habitual traffic violator By James Capozella Press-Dispatch News news@pressdispatch.net A September 5 traffic stop on a 1999 Chr ysler 300 trav- eling nor th on East Street in Winslow resulted in a charge of operating a vehicle while being a habitual traffic viola- tor for Edra Cannon, 49, of 2555 E CR 375S, Winslow. State Trooper Dustin Stein ran information on Cannon and then stopped her on La- fayette Street. Cannon told Trooper Stein that she did not have her li- cense with her and said she thought her HTV status was taken care of, according to the report. She was placed in hand- cuf fs and transpor ted to the Pike County Jail. Pike Coun- ty Sherif f 's Deputy Briar Meadors assisted with the stop and stayed with the ve- hicle until the tow tr uck ar- rived. Byrns charged with driving while suspended By James Capozella Press-Dispatch News news@pressdispatch.net A Washington man was stopped on September 4 on Main Street for failing to use a turn signal and was found to have his license suspended. David D. Byrns, 46, 1512 Wykoff Ln., Washington, was charged by Petersburg Sgt. Paul Collier with driving while suspended prior. Byrns pulled into the Su- noco gas station parking lot where he waited for a ride coming from Washington. Sgt. Collier told Byrns that if he was caught driving again he would go to jail. Collier issued a summons to Byrns appear at Pike Circuit Court at 8:30pm on October 4. Ennis named Little Miss Labor Day Queen Anistynn Ennis, 8 year old daughter of Keeja Corlett-Ennis of Petersburg, was named Little Miss Labor Day Queen this past weekend in Boonville.
