A-8 Tuesday, August 30, 2022 South Gibson Star-Times Anderson arrested for domestic battery By James Capozella A dispatch to 5992 S SR 165in Owensville on August 19 resulted in the arrest of Dustin Anderson, 51, for domestic batter y on Sheila A. Hargis, according to a of probable cause report filed by Gibson County deputy Loren Barchett. Officers Riley Farmer, Ja- son Wright and Deputies Zach Lienemann, Quinton Might and Garrett Tuley arrived at the home and Anderson was found in the basement where he had firearms. Deputy Barchett detained Anderson and placed him in Deputy Tuley's patrol car when she saw him exit the basement of the home. Hargis received a cut on her wrist and was bleeding from the calf and foot after Ander- son grabbed her and was at- tempted to hit her in the face according to the report. Anderson refused to make a statement and said if he knew there were so many officers present he would have made it much harder, according to the report. Hargis was treated by EMS at the scene and Anderson was transported to Deaconess Gibson Hospital. Anderson refused a porta- ble breath test and was medi- cally cleared, then transported to the Gibson County Jail on charges of domestic batter y resulting in moderate injur y. No injuries in crash at 850W and SR64 Gibson County Sheriff dep- uty Garrett Tuley investigated a two-vehicle accident on Au- gust 12 at the junction of 850W and SR 64 where less than $10,000 damage was listed for the two vehicles. A Toyota Corolla driven by Br ycen M. Neikirk, Mount Carmel, struck the rear of a Toyota 4-Runner driven by Nicklous E. McGee, Mount Carmel, while waiting to turn. Deputy Tuley reports Neikirk refused medical treat- ment and McGee was checked by medics. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. No injuries in two vehicle crash A Kia Sorento received rear end damage and a Dodge Da- kota front end damage in an August 9 two-vehicle crash on SR 64 near Owensville. Mikelan Swain of Bellmont, Il, was slowing down in traf- fic westbound when Dennis Harpe, Fort Branch, rear ended Swain's Kia Sorento in rainy weather, according to Officer Brian Naas. No injuries were report- ed, and the vehicle damages were estimated at $5,000 and $10,000. No vehicles were towed.
