A-4 Wednesday, August 10, 2022 The Press-Dispatch 63 attend Petersburg Holiness Church VBS Petersburg Holiness Church registered 63 children for last week's "Zoomerang" VBS which focused on the value of life and the Australian Outback. Pastor Chad Searls and his wife Valerie reported an average of 50 children attended the August 1 through 5 evening sessions which culminated with a presentation at the church Sunday evening. The top scoring juniors were Kelsey Harper and Corbin Parks. Jameson Henson and Ariel Gibbs were the top scoring toddlers. Second place juniors were Levi Gibbs, Justin Althoff, Alyson Copeland, Adrianna Parks and Kayla Lamar. Second place toddlers were Noah Rigger, Lily Scraper and Cailyn Beaton. 50th Annual Zoar Mosquito Fest Ayden Lubbers does his best to make it to first base before being tagged out during the annual wiffle ball tourna- ment Saturday. There were a mix of kids from Fernidad, Jasper, DuBois, and Pike County. Beau Lueken, 7, spends some time on the inflatable slide in the hot weather Saturday at the Zoar Mosquito Festival. The Zoar Fest saw some old fashioned cars drive through for the parade route on Saturday afternoon, like this Croskey station wagon. Check out page 6 for more photos. Harlan Haywood, 11, of Jasper, took his turn at bats during the afternoon wiffle ball tournament during the Mosquito Festival. Kids from all the surrounding counties participating on teams in the wiffle ball tournament.
