Mark Wade, Deacon Christian 1ST CHRISTIAN CHURCH 1400 E. Main Street Petersburg 812-354-6775 (Office) 941-730-6324 (Dennis Randall) Sunday mornings at our church involve two vibrant studies. One; the Galatian letter authored by the apostle Paul, and two; an enlightening study of the Gospel of Mark. Mark's gospel gives us first hand insight and instruction directly from Jesus. It is a study that increasingly draws us closer to our Lord. The Galatian study at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings is also a rich study as it teaches us the vital importance of salvation by faith and grace through Jesus Christ as opposed to salvation by our human works. The apostle is clear. If Christ followers are trying to be good enough, or earn salvation by our works, Christ has died in vain. One captivating verse is in the fifth chapter, verse six. Part of the verse says, and it must be studied in its context; "The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love." (NIV ) What a powerful, meaningful and encouraging verse. The genuineness of our faith is proved by the sincerity of our love. Share with us this Sunday. You'll be blessed. Sunday School: 9:30 a.m. and Worship: 10 :30 a.m. Dennis Randall, Minister VINCENT CHRISTIAN CHURCH 8264 E. State Rd. 56 Otwell Sunday morning worship and the Lord's Supper at 9:30 a.m.; Sunday school at 10:30 a.m.; Sunday evening worship at 6:30 p.m. Lesson topic: "Put Your Faith Into Action." August 15, 7:30 p.m. King- dom Builders at Plainville Christian Church. You are welcome to worship and study with us. The World "There is no greater mis- take than to suppose that Christians can impress the world by agreeing with it." Jesus said, "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled by men" (Matthew 5:13). I suspect we lose our salti- ness when we agree with the world on topics which the Bible calls greed, slander, drunkenness, thiever y, sexual immorality, etc... See I Corin- thians 6:9-10. Then some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple made with human hands and in three days will build an- other, not made with hands.'" Yet even then their testimony did not agree. Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?" But Je- sus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Bless- ed One?" "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." The high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we need any more witnesses?" he asked. "You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him as worthy of death. (Mark 14:57-64). Joe Henson, Pastor Matt Haycraft, Reporter JESUS CHRIST OUR FIRM FOUNDATION 1415 N. Help yourself to "FREE FOOD" and may God Bless all of you. The only thing that counts as far as our salvation is con- cerned is our relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have acknowledged your sinfulness and "truly" trusted Christ to save you, then nothing can take away your salvation. If we are committed to Jesus, however, God also wants us to become part of a fellowship of believers. God wants us to grow in our faith, and one of the ways we do this is through our fellowship with other be- lievers. Ask God to lead you to a church--- { JCFF }to a body of believers where you can grow spiritually. For we are mem- bers of ( CHRIST'S ) body. Ephesians 5:30—by: Rev. Billy Graham. We praise the Lord for the wonderful response to the V.B.S. program this year. It was an amazing week. God blessed us with over 60 chil- dren to minister to and they were a joy. They arrived each evening eager to recite mem- or y verses, sang with enthusi- asm, prayed around the altar, and would shout out answers to trivia questions. Our hearts were truly bless- ed. I would like to share one of the songs they sang. Born to Ser ve the Lord—by Bud Chambers: From the dust of the earth, God created man, His breath made man a living soul; for God so loved the world, that He gave His only son, and that is why I love Him so. For I was made in His like- ness, created in His image, for I was born to ser ve the Lord; and I can't deny him, I'll always walk beside him, for I was born to ser ve the Lord. My hands were made to help my neighbor, my eyes were made to read God's Word; my feet were made to walk in His footsteps, my body is the temple of the Lord. I was made in His likeness created in His image for I was born to ser ve the Lord and I can't deny Him. I'll always walk beside Him, for I was born to ser ve the Lord. I will ser ve Thee, because I love Thee, for I was born to ser ve the Lord. We are blessed with a good number of saints with ser v- ants' hearts who were willing to work hard to bring in the next generation of ser vants for the Lord.
