Some of the honors received by the varsity players this season include: the Hoosier Basketball Coaches As- sociation Academic award for players with a 3.2 GPA or higher: Quade Morton, Kendric Sorgius, Zane Gehl- hausen, Chase Ridao, Albert Whitehead and Brenton Fryrear. Quade Morton was named to the Courier & Press All Southwest Indiana 2nd Team, PAC All Conference 2nd team and All Greene County Tournament Team. Kendric Sorgius was named River City Showcase Scholar Athlete, PAC All Conference Honorable Mention and All Greene County Tournament Team. Chanley ran a 10 :57.25 to win by 50 seconds over Prince- ton's Devyn Jernigan. Tyler Decoursey placed third in the event with a time of 13:14. Chanley placed second in the 1600 with a time of 5:03, just eight seconds back of Princeton Blake Smith in 4:55. "Peyton was close to his best times from last year and I expect him do continue to improve with better weath- er," said Kramer. Brayden Howald had two seconds for the Chargers. He was second in the 110 hurdles in 19:07. The vent was won by Myles Carey of Princeton in 16.09. Howald's other second was in the pole vault, where he cleared 11'. Princeton's Ky- ler Kidd won the event at 12'. Pike Central Griffin Boyd was third, he also cleared 11 feet, but had more misses than Howald. Boyd added a second place in the 100 to the Chargers point total. He finished in 12.47, with Baylon Hardiman winning in 11.5. Samuel Coelman had the Chargers other second place finish in the shot put, he threw 34'3.5". Zquion Billings, of Princeton, won the shot put with a throw of 35.'6". Wyatt Frasure placed sec- ond in the 200 dash in a time of 24.53, and was third in the long jump with a leap of 16'5". "I've told our team that we shouldn't get stuck on the score of the meet and wheth- er we won or lost, because there are too many variables in track that are out of our con- trol, like the weather, the tal- ent of the other teams, among other things. All that we as coaches expect from them is for them to do their best each time they get the opportunity, and the results will take care of themselves. I told them if they did well Tuesday, great job, and if you didn't, that's ok because we will have many more opportunities with other meets," said Kramer.
