She was born on April 21, 1931 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Sebe Watkins and the late Pearlie Patterson Watkins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest F. Schenck; great-granddaugh- ter, Kimberly A. Buchanan; four brothers, Acres "Nelson" Watkins, Brodus Watkins, Robert Watkins and Earnest Watkins and a sister, Corine Miller. She is survived by a daughter, Pearlie Schenck Barnett of Stanley, NC; son, Earnest, Jr. Schenck (Judy) also of Stanley, NC; four grandchildren, Angela Schenck and Christi Schenck both of Stanley, Mauritius Schenck of Mt. Holly, NC, Chaisaray Schenck (Courteney) of Greensboro, NC; six great-grandchildren, Ronnie Meeks (Mindy) of Colorado; Shawn Wilson of Washington State, Alexis Schenck of Atlanta, GA and Olivia and Cionna Schenck both of Mt. Holly, NC, Zoe Schenck of Greensboro, NC; three great-great grandchil- dren, Michela Page, Peyton Meeks and Sophia Meeks all of Colorado; two brothers, T. K, Watkins of Lawndale, NC and Raymond Watkins of Gastonia, NC; and three sisters, Gladys Bines of Shelby, NC, New Zeland Ross of Charlotte, NC and Marjorie Schenck of Stanley. The funeral service for Mrs. Schenck was private. Burial took place at Brooks Chapel United Methodist Church in Polkville, NC. JUDY ANN HAMRICK WHISNANT Judy Ann Hamrick Whisnant, 70, of Shelby, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Hospice at Wendover. Born in Cleveland County on September 3, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Willie Hamrick and Marjorie Melton Hamrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wayne Whisnant and one brother, Tommy Gene Hamrick. Survivors include one son, Billy Joseph Whisnant of Shelby; one daugh- ter, Christy Clay and hus- band Steve of Shelby; two brothers, Willie Hamrick of Shelby and Mark Hamrick of Cherryville; one sister, Shelia Hamrick Canipe of Shelby; four grandchildren, Steven Clay, Samantha Clay, Elliott Whisnant and Parker Whisnant. A Funeral Service was held on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Justin Grigg officiating. The burial followed in the Rose Hill Memorial Park. NELLENE JONES WHITAKER Nellene Jones Whitaker, age 93, of Ellenboro, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Atrium Health- Cleveland. Nellene was born August 21, 1927 in Rutherford County to the late Gordon Andrew Jones and Pansy Lovelace Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dudley Whitaker; two brothers, Clyde and Corbett Jones; grandson, Jonathan H. Whitaker and sisters-in-law, Annie Sue Jones, Elaine Whitaker, Pat Daves and Joyce Benfield. Those left to cherish her memory include her daugh- ter, Barbara Greene (John) of Ellenboro; son, Alan Whitaker (Karen) of Cary, NC; brother, Glenn Jones (Georgia) of Floresville, Texas; five grandchildren, Megan Whitaker, Kristen Whitaker, Justin Whitaker, Daniel Greene (Stacy) and Melanie Lynch (Bruce); six great-grandchildren, Zoe Greene, Zain Greene, Zeke Lynch, Avery Lynch, Zachary Saraga and Ethan Saraga; and two sisters-in-law; Freda Jones of Ellenboro, Gail Price of Shelby. A graveside service was held at 3:00 pm on Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Michael Sepaugh officiating. Rickey was the son of the late Gerald Franklin and Ruby Lowery Wyatt of Ellenboro. In addition to his mother he is survived by sisters Deborah Wyatt Funderburk (Brent) of Starkville, Mississippi and Mealie Wyatt Macmurphy (Chuck) of Charlotte, NC. JOSEPHINE "JOSIE" McNEILLY HUFFMAN Josephine "Josie" McNeilly Huffman, 89, of Casar, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Atrium Health - Cleveland. Born in Cleveland County, on June 8,1931, she was a daughter of the late Andrew "Andy" Hoyle McNeilly and Blanche Laurie Hoyle McNeilly. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Teddy "Ted" Huffman; four brothers, Ralph, Rayford, Quinton, and Jerry McNeilly; six sis- ters, Pauline Brackett, Buna Canipe, Daphine Canipe, Edith Hastings, Martha Wilson, Brenda Williams and an infant sister. BARBARA YVONNE MOORE WILLIAMS Barbara Yvonne Moore Williams, 81, of Blacksburg, passed away October 15th, 2020, at her residence. Born in Gastonia, she was the widow of Ralph Carson Williams and the daughter of the late Harry Allen Moore and Thelma Arlee Hall Broome. Mrs. Williams is survived by one son, Robert Allen Williams; four daughters, Teresa Renee Childers (R.L.), Cathy Annette Willis (Larry), Carnita Yvonne Wilson (Mike), and Terry Lynn Proctor; one brother, Allen Lee Moore (Anita); two sisters, Carolyn LaRue Sherill and Cheri Annette Lecroy (Henry); 17 grand- children, 34 great-grand- children, and 3 great-great- grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was pre- ceded in death by her son, Michael Cord Williams, her daughter, Savannah Carolyn Robb, and her sister, Betty Jean Price. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 18th, 2020, in the Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street Chapel with Rev. Gregg Martin officiating. Interment followed at Clingman Memorial Gardens.
