Mr. Lail served our country in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his moth- er, Diana Piercy Lail. Mr. Christopher Lee Bolick, Sr., 51, of Waco, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Atrium Health - Cleveland. Christopher was born on July 29, 1969 in York County, SC a son of Dennis Bolick, Sr. and Kathryn Davis Bolick of Waco. He was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Bolick, Sr. Survivors include two daughters, Brittany Anthony of Cherryville and Nikki Bolick of Shelby; two sons Christopher Bolick, Jr. and Shawn Bolick; a brother, Dennis Bolick, Jr. all of Waco and four grandchildren. JOHN WALLACE CAIN John Wallace Cain, 83, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on October 12, 2020 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. MARTHA ANN BYERS LANEY Martha Ann Byers Laney, 91, resident of Cleveland Pines, transitioned peace- fully to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 4th, 2020. Born July 16, 1929 in Gastonia, Martha was the daughter of Charles Saul Byers and Garey Frances Hartsell Byers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gaffney Laney, Jr. Martha had five siblings: Charles, Frances, Jane, Dick and David. Martha was the world's greatest mom to her chil- dren: Robert G. Laney, III, (Caroline), Dorothy Ann Laney Viehman (Bill), and Carol Hartsell Laney Schenck (Michael). She was a loving grandmother to Elizabeth Addington (Tane), Sarah Quinn Laney, Dorothy Strickland (Talmadge), Laura Gray Lefcoski (Joe), Laney Putnam (Carson) and Tripp Schenck. He was born in Cleveland County to James Wilson (Jim) White, Sr. and Okley Chapman White on September 10, 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Loy E. White. She was born on March 24, 1946 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Clarence Robinson and the late Mae Lizzie Thomas Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Lott and Betty Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Devon Odoms; step-son, Kerry Hammond of Shelby; two sisters, Frances Benton (Donald) and Shirley Goolsby (Danny) both of Shelby; sisters-in-law, Marie Tate (Michael), Willie Mae Odoms and Elois Banks; one brother-in-law, Willie J. Born in Cleveland County, on February 26, 1963, he was the son of Barbara Champion Hoppes of Shelby and the late Nelson David Hoppes. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of thirty eight years, Lisa Ann Webb Hoppes; daughter, Brittney Hoppes of Shelby; granddaughter, Lilley Ann Hoppes of Shelby; three brothers, Bobby Hoppes, Nelson Hoppes and wife Whitney, and Michael Hoppes all of Shelby.
