Christ is the Answer Every now and then you find this on a sign on the edge of a town, or in giant letters on the side of factory or warehouse. Christ is the answer when you talk about forgiveness of sins, eternal life, peace and the struggles within our na- WINSLOW CHRISTIAN CHURCH Corner of Lafayette and Walnut Pastor 812-753-3539 Sunday school 9:30 a.m.; morning worship 10 :30 a.m.; We extend a warm wel- come to everyone. Dr. Robert Asa, Minister tion. Much of the trouble can be traced to the home. Here too often men are not play- ing the man. They are not loving the wives as Christ loved the church. They are not caring for their children in a Godly fashion. The Apostle Paul said, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord; for this is right. Honor thy father and mother which is the first command- ment with promise, that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. And ye fathers, pro- voke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admoni- tion of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:1-4). Because He lives. John Manges, Minister service at 10 :30 a.m. I grew up hearing the ad- age, prayer changes every- thing. Though there was a season of my life, like ma- ny, I lived with a small view of prayer. But as a pastor I have learned that prayer is more meaningful than we know. Paul encourages us to pray without ceasing. In- dicating that prayer is more than just a lifeline you get thrown while drowning, it's a way of life. Communi- cating with the father. Paul also tells us to be anxious about nothing but to give our concerns to God through prayer. Likewise, Peter tells us to cast away our troubles at his feet because he cares for us. Prayer is a way of life, we cannot neglect it, for the glory of God and the good of our own souls. So, let's com- mit to pray and pray for the ordinary. Let's pray for our spouses and our families. Let's pray for our church and the mission God has giv- en us. Let us pray that God would give us new life and love for the church. Let us never stop praying for spe- cific people we want to see connected to Jesus, connect- ed to the church, and expe- rience real life change. Let us commit to making prayer our way of life. David wrote the above be- cause His experience of the Lord in his life was so im- portant to him that he want- ed others to have a similar experience. In a relationship with the Lord, He provides for your needs.
