The Press-Dispatch Church Wednesday, June 17, 2020 B- 3 MINUTES Continued from page 1 PAWS WEEK PAWS WEEK Pet of the BAGHERRA RAMBLINGS Continued from page 1 Wesleyan VIEWPOINT Continued from page 1 God has given them. Some maintain a discreet silence because of the "fear of man"; others because they love "the praise of man". Both say: "One must be careful what one says, for these truths are not pop- ular", but both alike are guilty of unfaithfulness to God and the truth. With God's help, let us not be among them. Let us, where the truth is con- cerned, stand with David and Paul and say: "WE AL SO BELIEVE AND THEREFORE SPEAK! " Let us be among those who truly possess "the spir- it of faith", who are deter- mined to "stand fast in the faith" and ready to "fight the good fight of faith" (ICor.16:13; ITim.6:12). but we still have to put polyleuerthene on the ce- dar trim boards we made. Finally got what we need from Menards so it will be back together one of these days. I bought the cedar we used many years ago and have saved it for a special occasion so it found its place. We only had to mow one time this week and it real- ly needed it because it was difficult to cut. I imagine people driving by when- ever our neighbor or I are mowing our hills and hol- lows have to get a kick out of us siding around out there. I have gotten used to sliding once in awhile and don't think much about it so I just go for the ride. It's just a cheap amusement ride. I had a doctor appoint- ment this week and he was pleased with the results of my labs. I still have to go Monday for a phlebotomy to reduce my ferritin level which we can do nothing about. They have a cure for almost everything but hereditary hemochromoti- sis. We have found the ex- ercises I have been ded- icated to for a couple of years has raised my me- tabolism high enough to use up a lot of the bad stuff in my body. We had church Sunday and we have been talk- ing about having friend and family day, but this past Sunday sister Linda Darcus and her daugh- ter Hope had fourteen of their family in church. It was nice to have several in worship with us Sunday. Linda brought a lesson on Proverbs 11 and we dis- covered a few more things God doesn't want us to do. The biggest of them was to stay humble and not to think of ourselves high- er than we have the right. Big heads seems to always stumble and find out they have missed the mark of truly being happy and blessed. I tried to preach/teach a lesson on equality and the fact while we aren't all shown the same type of op- portunities if we don't ac- cept what is placed in front of us we are guilty and no one else is to blame. The Bible says plainly God cre- ated us in His image not to look like God but to be able to live as a child of God. It says we are God's perfect creation but you and I are the ones who drop the ball and don't ac- cept His marvelous love. Learn to accept another person's respect and re- turn it in kind so we may live in harmony instead of turmoil. I'll be the first to say I know it has gotten out of hand, but if we step back and give our Lord the chance we could have the harmony we are missing. Okay, let us all go out into the world and do our best to show our respect for one another and for heaven's sake be a bless- ing to someone. Pentecostal Nazarene "Black Cats were creat- ed to give everyone... the opportunity to be owned by a mini-panther." This week, PAWS is fea- turing a prowling young kitten named Bagheera. This adventurous feline could have come straight out of the Jungle Book and we thought it fitting to name him Bagheera. Bagheera loves to chase his tail and the other cats around the cat room as if he were the king of the jun- gle. To adopt this adoring young kitten, call 812-354- 9894. message. Many church goers do not understand the consequences of sin. Everything has to do with attendance, buildings and money. God's House is a House of Prayer and a place where people gath- er to understand forgive- ness and find hope. They need to know what the Bi- ble teaches about heaven and hell. When the church ful- fills its main mission our nation is not likely to pro- mote a one world gov- ernment or a one world church. Jesus Christ and the cross will always be the center of the true church. Our Bible re- minds us of a great falling away from the faith and lukewarmness among God's people. Our love for money, acceptance, and growth has robbed us of something precious; a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. RUMBLETOWN FREE METHODIST CHURCH 1485 N. Remember that we are cre- ated in God's image. "God cre- ated mankind in his own im- age, in the image of God he created them; male and fe- male he created them" (Gen- esis 1:27). No matter what we look like on the outside, all of us are an image-bearer of God. As His created person, we reflect His glory; and as believers in Je- sus, we are being transformed to represent Him in the world. Do you struggle to love the skin you're in? Today, look in the mirror and smile for God. He created you in His image. Josh Sanders, Pastor Sherry Julian, Reporter WHITE RIVER CHAPEL UMC 3555 W. So many trials come in- to our lives and along with the business of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? God's order back into our lives—a peace that pass- es all understanding—He is in control. Facebook: White River Chapel UMC, Jeff Pinney. Sunday morning service 10 :15 a.m.; Sunday school at 11 a.m. We are back having Sunday service. Had an expectation of our first Sunday back in service to be present. I was not sur- prised as I got to see a mov- ing of the Holy Spirit in a life and you could feel a change in the atmosphere of the church and in the lives of the saints. So glad for His Word and the faithfulness of His saints. Keep our president, vice- president and the cabinet in your prayers that the right de- cisions will be made. Mechanics Street Otwell Pastor 812.354.3028 Sunday school and evening worship has been canceled un- til further notice. There will be morning worship at 10 :30 a.m. A gentleman was walking through an elephant camp, and he noticed the elephants weren't being kept in cages or held by the use of chains. All that was holding them back from escaping the camp was a small piece of rope tied to one of their legs. As the man gazed upon the elephants, he was complete- ly confused as to why the el- ephants didn't just use their strength to break the rope and escape the camp. They could easily have done so, but instead, they didn't try at all. Curious and wanting to know the answer, he asked a trainer nearby why the el- ephants were just standing there and never tried to es- cape. The trainer replied, "when they are very young and much smaller, we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to be- lieve they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free." Moral of the story: No mat- ter how much the world tries to hold you back, always con- tinue with the belief that what you want to achieve is possible. Believing you can become suc- cessful is the most important step in actually achieving it. "I can do all things through him who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13, ESV ).
