She was born in Kings Mountain, NC, daughter of the late Marshall Eugene and Doris Morrison Camp. She was of the Christian faith. Ann was always on the move and enjoyed shop- ping and looking for bar- gains. She loved being at home around her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a wonderful home- maker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Ann will be missed dearly by her lov- ing family and friends. Survivors: Husband of 52 years: Erskine Bolin, of the home Sons: Chris Bolin and wife Brooke and Justin Bolin and wife Kimberly, all of Kings Mountain, NC Bothers: Mike Camp and wife Gail, Gastonia, NC and Tony Camp and wife Sherry, Morganton, NC Sisters: Robin Goins, Kings Mountain, NC and Kelly Rice, Grover, NC Grandchildren: Devin Bolin, Madisyn Bolin, Joshua anyone she met. She was a wonderful mother, sis- ter, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed dearly by her loving family. BRENDA JOYCE DIXON BLALOCK Brenda Joyce Dixon Blalock, 76, of Sunny Street, Shelby, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Hospice at Wendover, Shelby. Born in Cleveland County, NC on January 2, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Ira Nelson Dixon and Leila Proyer Dixon. She was retired after 32 years of service from Cleveland Regional Medical Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Melinda Leigh and Michelle Smith; a grandson, Scott Smith and three sisters, Diane, Kay and Arlene. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Royce Bill Blalock; two daughters, Tammy Sarratt and husband, Matthew of Shelby and Jackie Harrison of Greenville, Texas; six grandchildren, John Bridges, Jeannie Zurita, Andy Bridges, John Andrew Harrison, Jack Smith and Colin Sarratt; seven great- grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, Bryson, Brooklyn, Will, Emmalin and Koleby. Trail Blacksburg, SC, passed away on Saturday, April 18th, at her residence. Born in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of Edria Jo Clark and the late Charles Love. Cheryl enjoyed nature trips, the beach and tak- ing vacations. Her hobbies included photography, sing- ing, poetry/writing and col- lecting porcelain dolls. She was a child care provider and adored her students. She also loved her church family at Encounter in Gaffney, SC where she was a member. She lived for her three sons, Ricky Dewayne Love, Noah Alexander Love and Jacob Garrison Love who will cherish her memory as she loved them deeply. Also left to cherish her memory are two brothers, Dustin Duncan and Michael West. The family will have a Memorial Service to cele- brate her life, which will be announced at a later date due to the present health concerns in our state. NELL FOSTER HAMMETT Gaffney -- Nell Foster Hammett, 90, of 167 Cherokee National Highway, was promoted to Heaven on Saturday, April 18th, 2020, at her home surrounded by family. Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of Bobby Hammett and the daughter of the late Lewis Foster and Vera Roberts Foster. Mrs. Hammett retired as a public accountant and loved gar- dening and traveling to the mountains and Florida. She was a member of Cherokee Bolin, Madison Ayscue, Calum Bolin and Ella Bolin Special Niece: Erica Johnson All services will be private. Interment: Mountain Rest Cemetery. MAEBELL H. COLLINS Maebell H. Collins, 91, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on April 17, 2020 at Peak Resources in Shelby, NC. She was born in Rutherford County, NC, daughter of the late Harrison and Myrtle Short Henson and was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Collins, a grandson Steven Collins and son in law, John Queen. Maebell was also preceded in death by her brothers Adam, JD and Paul Henson and her sisters Lorienna Causby and Mildred Henson. She was retired from the tex- tile industry and a longtime faithful member of Gloryland Missionary Baptist Church. Maebell loved spending time with her family and enjoyed their family beach trips. She loved working puzzles and enjoyed Sudoku. Maebell was very outgoing, loved dancing and could befriend CAROLYN NEWTON BUMGARNER Cherryville - Mrs. Carolyn Newton Bumgarner, 88, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation Center in Cherryville. Mrs. Bumgarner was born on November 10, 1931 in Gaston County, NC a daughter of the late Marion Gideon Newton and Sulie Kay Carpenter Newton. She retired from Gaston County Schools after 26 years as an administrative assistant at John Chavis Middle School in Cherryville. Mrs. Bumgarner was the last living charter member of Anthony Grove Baptist Church where she was very active. She served as organist for many years and also served in various other capacities. In addition to her par- ents she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Bumgarner; a son-in-law, Larry Craig; a sister, Bonnie Farmer and seven brothers, Ralph, Frank, Wilbur, Joe, Robert and Keith Newton. Survivors include a daughter, Vicki B. Craig of Lincolnton; a son, Michael "Doodle" Bumgarner and wife Jane of Cherryville; three grandchildren, Tim Bumgarner, David Bumgarner and Matt Craig; seven great grandchildren, Kyle, Chris, Cash, Taelyn, Boone, Brett and Chase and one great-great grandchild, Ares. Also surviving are a number of nieces and neph- ews. Mrs. Bumgarner will lie in state from 10:00 AM until 2:00PM on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Stamey- Cherryville Funeral Home. A Private Funeral Service will be held at Anthony Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Bean officiating. Burial will be in City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville. Holly, NC, Gail Humphries and husband, J.C., of Gaffney, Cathy Trammell of Gaffney, Betty Jo Patrick and Frank, of Gaffney, and Martha Eubanks and hus- band, Doug, of Spartanburg; one brother, Morris Foster, of Blacksburg; two sisters, Doris Gorman of Shelby, NC and Shirley Allen and hus- band, Bob, of McConnells, SC; twelve grandchildren, Tara Tucker, Travis Allison, Courtney Ritchie, Chris Piercy, Curt Humphries, Julia Humphries, Alex Trammell, Mary Trammell, Holly Hyatt, Jackson Eubanks, Gracie Eubanks, and Brady Eubanks; nine great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Betty Ann Ellis. In addition to her hus- band and parents, Mrs. Hammett was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessie Humphries; a broth- er, Lawrence "Bud" Foster; and a son-in-law, Rusty Trammell. A family graveside ser- vice will be held Tuesday, April 21st, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Frederick Memorial Gardens. Doug Eubanks, Travis Allison, Curt Humphries, and Jackson Eubanks will serve as pall- bearers. Memorials may be made to Cherokee Creek Baptist Church, 501 Buck Shoals Rd, Gaffney, SC 29341. The family will be at their respective homes.
