Born in the Philippines on October 5, 1953 she was the daugh- ter of the late Bonifacio and Eustaquia Getuaban Laput. Nimfa worked as a sales associate for the Pantry at Beaver Dam, Marion Street and Tony Chip and Sip. She enjoyed gardening and plants. In addition to her par- ents, Nimfa is preceded in death by a half-brother and her loving canine compan- ion," Jasmine". Nimfa is survived by her husband of 35 years, Michael Horne; a daughter, Thea Guerra and husband David of Gastonia; a grandson, Ethan Guerra; two brothers, Carlo Laput and Junior Laput; and five sisters, Alice, Chona, Myrna, Eda, Lene, and Nene. Private Service will be held in the Philippines. BILLY FORREST SPAKE, SR. Billy Forrest Spake, Sr., 90, of Fallston, NC passed away April 11, 2020 at his resi- dence. Bill was born on April 1, 1930 to the late Charles and Ruth Hamilton Spake of Waco, NC Bill was a member of the National Guard for 10 years, worked for Pepsi Cola for a number of years before 45 years as owner and operator of Spake's Antiques off Hwy 18 in Vale, NC. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Dolly Spake; his brothers: Charles Spake, Jr., Jimmie Spake, Glen Thomas Spake, and Harold Spake and sisters: Helen Spake Harvey and Margaret Spake Ross; and a granddaughter. Survivors include his broth- er David Spake along with two children; Billy Forrest Spake, Jr. of Hickory and Ronald Dean Spake of Charlotte; five grandchildren; Erica Spake, Stephen Spake, Krista Martin, Marcus Spake, and Daniel Spake and numerous great-grandchildren. MICHAEL KEITH BESS Michael Keith Bess, age 53, of 316 Neal Rd., passed away suddenly Friday April 10, 2020. He was born August 11, 1966 in Fremont Nebraska to the late Clyde Keith and Mary Jeanette Garrett Bess. Mike was employed with ADS for nearly 18 years. He loved carp fishing and being outdoors. BARRY RANDALL DELLINGER Shelby: Barry Randall Dellinger, 70, died Friday, April 10, 2020, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Crayton and Vera Short Dellinger. Barry was the first paid EMT in Cleveland County, and he worked at Lithium Corp. He was of the Baptist faith, and had a love of hunting, fishing and NASCAR. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, DiAnne Henson Dellinger, of the home; daughters, Dana Trammell and husband David of Grover and Leanne Deviney and husband Randy of Kings Mountain; sister, Cathy Marshall and husband Bo of Boiling Springs; brother, Rick Dellinger and fiancée Gwen Spikes of Grover; and grand- children, Zachary Trammell, Katie Brigman and husband Adam and Maggie Deviney. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Levie and Susie Carroll Doster. Nancy was a mem- ber of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and the Camp Call Eastern Star. She retired from the quality control department at Walmart, and she enjoyed reading, quilting and making dolls. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Wright; brother, Gene Doster; and sister, Ozelle Bridges. Nancy is survived by her son, Jeff Wight and fiancée Kim Powell of Shelby; sis- ter, Ina Doster of Grover; and grandchildren, Seth and Emma Wright. Born April 23, 1961 in Detroit MI, Jeff was the son of Kenneth Flowers and the late Laura Church Flowers. Jeff was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He worked and retired from Copeland Corp. as an assembly work- er and also worked many years at Cleveland Memorial Hospital in Surgical Supply. LYNDA L. PRUITT ERVIN Lynda L. Pruitt Ervin, age 55, died Sunday, April 12, 2020 at her home. Born on January 16, 1965, in Greensboro, she was the daughter of Linzy W. Pruitt and wife Gilda Whitaker Pruitt of Shelby and the late Shirley Delores Hillard Jarvis. In addition to her mother, Lynda is preceded in death by a son, Tory Yelton. In addition to her father, Lynda is survived by a daugh- ter, Kelly Reeves of Anderson, SC; grandson, Nicholas Reeves of the home; grand- children, Chase and Kayleigh Bridges of Boiling Springs; a sister Susan Pruitt Marlowe (Mark); two nephews, Dr. Christopher Marlowe and Eric Marlowe both of Spartanburg SC; and a special friend of many years, Billy Whetstine of Shelby. Private service will be held at a later date. KIMSEY LEE PHILLIPS Kimsey Lee Phillips, age 81 of Cherryville Rd., for- merly of South Jersey passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 at his residence. He was born December 22, 1938 in Waynesville, NC to the late Houston R. Phillips and Laura Jane Hannah. He served in the National Guard and was retired from Truck Service Trucking of Forest City. He enjoyed going to the flea mar- ket and loved to work on cars. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Grace Marie Lowers Phillips; sons, Kenneth Phillips and Michael Phillips; daugh- ters, Marie Gelardo, Shirley Phillips, Debbie Moore, and Bonnie Phillips; 16 grandchil- dren; and 24 great grandchil- dren.
