On a beautiful sunny spring morning, April 13th, five Keep Shelby Beautiful volunteers worked together to pick up litter along West Marion Street from Howie Drive to Highway 74. This is one of the most heavily littered areas along a major entryway leading into uptown Shelby. But thanks to these hard working volunteers, giving up their Saturday morning, they picked up over 250 pounds of litter and recyclables along the busy road. The litter tossed out by motorists included everything from glass bottles, to aluminum cans, to fast food wrappers and a variety of other items. These volunteers, who by their service, showed a love for their community were: James Carringer (Kings Mountain High School Senior); Keep Shelby Beautiful Commission Members – Helen Gilliatt and Wiley Smith, Keep Shelby Beautiful Advisor – Fred Blackley, and Keep Shelby Beautiful Coordinator – Mary Byrnes. Holy Ghost Baptistm The blessing of Holy Ghost Baptism gets a lot of criticism. The big boys say "let's do away with that holy ghost stuff and just say holy spirit", which they have in a lot of their bibles. They teach that they are the same, so let's leave out H.G. They still try to teach a risen Christ. So the result is, you can't tell the church goers from the ones who don't go. Statement: the Comforter is Jesus in Holy Ghost Spirit. Preachers need to get out and move around and find out what is going on in the world. I really don't know how some preachers handle Hebrews 12:14 where Paul writes: "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:" Holiness and no man or person is permissible. If this is not enough to wake you up, you are in bad trouble with your Saviour.
