Amanda Gonzales' third grade class did an Egg Drop STEM project. The students built containers to protect their eggs from breaking as they were dropped from different heights. Ready to take their turn are: Taylen Bailey, Travis Barrett, Lydia Abel, Erik Sanchez, Blake Wellmeyer, Nevaeh McGee, Arianna Richardson, Kiley Genco, Lukas Carrico-Strom and Parker Abel. Student Council member Jaron Woolsey works the concession table at the Winter Dance, where Cainan Russell checks out the glow sticks for sale. Team practice, after school until 4:30 p.m. Feb. 25 & 27– Robotics Team practice after school Feb. 27– J.A.M. Club, third and fourth grades Nevaeh McGee lets go of her egg drop bucket and hopes for the best. Jesse Ridao earned black belts this week in recorder karate. Karly Gideon earned black belts this week in recorder karate. Ms. Stone's class read "The Story of Snow" and made their own unique snowflakes. Arianna Richardson gets ready to drop her egg during their STEM Egg Drop activity in Mrs. Gonzales' class. Pike Central Students in Mrs. Bohnert's homeroom, En- glish classes and several student volunteers are crocheting mats for the homeless out of recy- cled plastic bags as part of the ongoing home- less unit sponsored by the IPL teacher grant. Whitney Norris spent her recess decorating Mrs. Tusing's whiteboard. Cheyenne Doades is up and on the bounce during the relay races during the Valentine's Day celebration. Gavin Smith and Wyatt Wolfe are working on multiplication cards. OMA students enjoying a game of Fraction Run in Mrs. Elliott's classroom for Wacky Wednesday. Thursday afternoon was celebrated with having lots of fun for Valentine's Day. Pictured are: Pey- ton Taylor, Kellcyn Riker, Haiyden Goeppner, Jaz- lyn Wolfe and Kaydan Hill. Dawson Pauw takes pride in completing his task that he chose on the heart drawing game during the Val- entine's Day celebra- tion. First load heading to Somebody's Place. Stu- dents have brought in over 500 items so far. The Canned Food/Cereal Drive will go on the entire month of February. Great job students.
