AMELIA ELIZABETH THOMPSON Amelia Elizabeth Thomp- son, 29, of Winslow, entered rest on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at her home. She was born on May 14, 1990, in Oakland City. She graduated from Oak- land City University with a BA in Early Childhood Care. She worked at the Toyota Child Care Center and at- tended the Muren Church of God. She is survived by her mother, Sheila Boger, of Winslow; children, Caid- en Crume and Adeline Ha- vens; a sister, Amanda (Si- mon) Wertman; a brother, Jeremiah (Kristy) Thomp- son, of Winslow; grand- mother, Georgia Barrett, of Winslow; six nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael R. Thompson. Services were at 2 p.m. EST on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, at the Muren Church of God, with Rev. Clint Wool- sey officiating. Burial fol- lowed in the Ashby Ceme- tery. Visitation was from 4- 8 p.m. EST on Sunday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel and from noon until service time on Monday at the church. Mason, 95, of Winslow, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at River Pointe Health Cam- pus in Evansville. She was born on Febru- ary 3, 1924, in her home in Raglesville, Daviess County, Ind., to the late Merlin Ra- cy and Lola May (Ramsey) Stuckey. She graduated from Odon High School. She married Ivan Mason on January 12, 1946, and they were bless- ed with 46 years together before he passed on March 14, 1992. She worked as a forklift driver and shell gauger for a couple of years at Crane Naval Depot and as co-own- er of Mason's General Store in Coe, Pike County, for six years. She was a member of New Liberty General Bap- tist Church in Coe. She was an avid Indiana University fan and loved watching the Los Angeles Dodgers. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Shirley (Allan) Crecelius, of Newburgh, Gloria (Stuart Batterman) Mason, of Ann Arbor, Mich., Linda Mason-Weitkamp, of Lynnville, and Ivan Mason, Jr., of Evansville; sister, Mar- jorie Angerer, of Franklin; four grandchildren, Suzette Humphrey, Heath (Patty) Crecelius, Kelli ( Jim) Lut- terman, and Joel Mason ( Julie Brock) Batterman; six great-grandchildren, Colton Humphrey, Connor Purdue, Hunter Purdue, Kaleigh Humphrey, Loralee Purdue and Mina Crecelius; and sisters-in-law, Omadeen Stuckey, of Indianapolis, Lois Stuckey, of Odon, and Marynelle Greene, of Lin- coln, Neb. She was preceded in death by her parents; hus- band; grandson, Matthew Paul Young; brothers, Mer- lin, Dayton, Dwight and Claude "Sam" Stuckey; and sister, Helen Burdette. RONALD G. TAPP Ronald G. Tapp, 74, of Winslow, left this Earth on January 15, 2020, at his home to join his wife of 27 years, Deborah L. Tapp. He was born January 26, 1945, in Indianapolis, to the late Gordon and Helen Tapp. He retired from Whirl- pool as a forklift mechanic and was also a volunteer fire- fighter. He enjoyed the outdoors and woods, where he always felt at peace and grounded. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseback riding. He had a large extended family over the years through deer camps. Survivors include his sis- ter, Viva (Terry) Davis; chil- dren, Misie (Kim) Smith, Ron (Tammy) Tapp, Rudy Tapp, James Tapp, Kimber- ly (Clint) Matteson, Stacey (Brian) Kendall and Jerry ( Janet) Brandsasse; grand- children, Brooke, Brittani, Tanner (Fredricka), Hai- ley, Alyissa (Anthony), Nicholi, Terra, John, Sierra, D.J. Courtney, Cody (Sar- ah), Brian II, Kevin (Han- nah), Anna and Jackie; great-grandchildren, Pais- ley, Reece, Zelda and Bri- entley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah L. Tapp; a son, John Tapp; two broth- ers, William and Daniel; five sisters, Jackie, Kathy, JoAnn, Carolyn and Shelia; a granddaughter, Nikki; and a grandson, Josh Dunning. CAROLYN JOAN SWIFT Carolyn Joan Swift, 93, a long-time resident of Hamil- ton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, January 16, 2020, at the Lau- rels of DeKalb, Butler, Ind., where she had been a resi- dent the past three weeks. She was born May 20, 1926, in Garrett, Ind., the daughter of the late Herman and Selma (Griske) Died- erich. She was a 1944 graduate of St. Joe High School. She mar- ried Carl T. Swift on Decem- ber 29, 1946, in Auburn, Ind., and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2019. A devoted wife and moth- er, she was a homemaker, tending to the needs of her family. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Fremont, as well as the Red Hat Society, Mamas of Ham- ilton and the Home Econom- ics Club. She enjoyed tend- ing to her flower gardens and caring for her cats. She truly treasured the time she spent with her family, especial- ly her children and grand- children, following all their activities, whether academ- ic or athletic. She was their biggest supporter. Surviving are her three children, Thomas E. (Alice) Swift, of Waterloo, Michael A. "Mick" (Tim Leonard) Swift, of Indianapolis, and Amy J. (Henry) Shrack, of Greentown, Ind.; one son-in- law, Robert Waddle, of India- napolis; eight grandchildren, Kelly (Chuck Dull) Swift, Brian (Heather) Swift, Amy (Adam) Henderson, Carrie (Pavel) Sokolov, Kimber- ly (Dan Tritch) Shrack, Da- vid (Shenna) Shrack, Dan- ny (Sarah) Waddle and Rob (Laura) Waddle; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaugh- ter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl; one daughter, Patricia A. Swift Waddle; one brother, Eugene Diederich; and one sister, Cordelia May. (Hinkle) Habegger, 88, of Geneva, Ind., passed away at 2:49 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Swiss Village in Berne, Ind. She was born on Wednes- day, December 20, 1931, in Indianapolis. She married Paul D. Habegger, Sr. on Sunday, June 19, 1966, in Adams County, Ind., and he pre- ceded her in death on May 1, 2004. She was a 1949 gradu- ate of Hartford Twp. High School in Adams County. She attended the Six Mile Church. She will be sadly missed by her children, Paul ( Jen- nifer) Habegger, Jr., of Gene- va, Philip (Cheri) Habegger, of Bluffton, Hollie (Matt) Gilly, of Bluffton, Justin (Mi- chelle) Habegger, of Deca- tur; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren, family and friends in Pike County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Habegger, Sr.; mother, Hattie May(Dedrick) Hin- kle; father, David T. Hinkle; and brother, David T. Hin- kle II. White Hos- pice House in Evansville. He was born January 2, 1932, in Oakland City to the late Frank and Arnell (Hels- ley) Kinnaman and mar- ried Betty L. (Harper) Kin- naman on May 30, 1953. He served his country in the United States Na- vy throughout Japan, Chi- na and North Korea from March 2, 1949, until Decem- ber 16, 1952, and worked as a coal miner. He was a mem- ber of the First General Bap- tist Church in Oakland City, the USS Brinkley Bass As- sociation for about 25 years, and the Oakland City Ma- sonic Lodge #467 since 1953. He enjoyed going to church, fishing and play- ing euchre. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his lov- ing wife of 66 years, Betty Kinnaman, of Oakland City; son, Donald "Rick" (Diana) Kinnaman, of Oakland City; daughter, Alice Jane (Paul) Berryman, of Oakland City; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1966. She then married Levienes Schitter on No- vember 17, 1979, in St. Jo- seph's Catholic Church in Jasper and he preceded her in death on September 30, 2018. She worked at Master- brand Cabinets until retire- ment. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jasper, D of I, St. Ann's So- ciety, American Legion Aux- iliary, VFW Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose. Her passion was making crafts and playing bingo with her sisters. She is survived by one son, James (Carol) Luker, of Jasper; one granddaugh- ter; three great-granddaugh- ters; five great-great-grand- children; one sister, Flor- ence (Delbert) Angerer, of Jasper; two brothers, Den- nis ( Virlee) Kreilein, of Jas- per, and Kenneth (Marge) Kreilein, of Celestine. Preceding her in death, besides her two husbands, are four sisters, Marcella Rees, Anna Mae Messier, Alberta Kreilein and an in- fant, Joann Kreilein. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at St. Joseph's Catho- lic Church in Jasper. Burial will follow in Fairview Cem- etery in Jasper.
