PCHS OVERMATCHED AGAINST LOOGOOTEE The team lost earlier in the week to an outstanding Loogootee team, 59 -21. The Lady Lions (17-1, 5 - 0 Blue Chip) are currently ranked No. 1 in Class A. "Loogootee is a very tal- ented team," McCutchan said. "They tried to press and half court trap us and we had a few turnovers that led to baskets for them, but our defensive effort was great in the first half. We were down I think 12 at half but our ef- fort was very good. They scored a couple baskets quickly in the second half and they took over the game in the third quarter. To beat quality opponents, you have to play with intensity for four quarters." Hickey led the Lady Chargers with 13. Other Pike Central scorers were Hunt (4), Jenna Horrall (3), Leighty (3), Vaughn (3) and Nelson (2). "We have four more games against some very good teams and I am looking forward to seeing how we compete heading into sec- tionals," McCutchan said. The team traveled to Evansville North (14-4, 4-2 SIAC) on Tuesday, Jan. 21. They will host Princeton (5 - 10, 0 -5 Big Eight) on Thurs- day, Jan. 23, and Tecumseh (12-5, 4-2 PAC) on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
