WILLIAM "BILL" BETTIS MCDANIEL William "Bill" Bettis McDaniel, age 90, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on July 28, 2019. He was son of the late John Dixon McDaniel and Annie Dixon and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Glenn, Clyde, Naaman, Charles McDaniel; sisters, Josephine Sellers, Sarah Stroupe and Helen Roberts. Mr. McDaniel served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Helen Morris McDaniel of Kings Mountain, NC; son, William David "Big Mac" McDaniel and wife, Dorothy of Kings Mountain, NC; daughter, Suzanne "Suzie" Terres and hus- band, Mike of Shelby, NC; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; broth- ers, Rodger McDaniel of Kings Mountain, NC, Gerald McDaniel and wife, Libby of Kings Mountain, NC; Durwood "Dean" McDaniel and wife, Jean, Shelby, NC; sisters, Ruth Sanders of Kings Mountain, NC and Martha Ann Wright and hus- band, Ralph of Conover, NC; brother and sister-in- law, Jerry and April Morris of Kings Mountain, NC; sis- ter and brother-in-law, Laura Laine "Laney" and Bobby Huskey of Hendersonville, NC; and sister-in-law, Becky McDaniel of Shelby, NC Funeral services were held at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC. He was a son of the late Clyde Hoyle Dixon and Velma Houser Dixon. Mr. Dixon served our country in the US Army during the Korean War. TERESA LYNN RATHBONE RAMEY Teresa Lynn Rathbone Ramey, 57, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on July 28, 2019. She was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Taylor Rathbone. Mrs. Rathbone is sur- vived by her husband, James Ramey; daugh- ter, Anna Ramey Moncrief and husband, Eric of Hendersonville, NC; father, Douglas Thurman Rathbone of Kings Mountain, NC; and a granddaughter. JOHN RALEIGH "JOHN BOY" WALKER III John Raleigh "John Boy" Walker III, 45, of Blacksburg, SC, passed away on July 29, 2019. He was the son of John and Sandra Walker and the late Mary Ann Batchelor Walker. Mr. Walker is survived by his parents, Johnny and Sandra Walker; two sons, Joshua Walker and John Walker IV; one daugh- ter, Lilly Ann Walker; three sisters, Chrystal Walker Sanders (Cale), Heather Batchler (Rick), and Misty Walker Badger (Craig); and his grandmother. RUSSELL SAMUEL (SAM) COOPER Russell Samuel (Sam) Cooper, 78, of Shelby, NC, passed away on July 27, 2019. He was born to Russell and Ruby Cooper, who pre- deceased him. He also was preceded in death by a sis- ter, Betty Richards and a son, Jeffrey Cooper. Mr. Cooper is survived by a son, Jonathan Cooper; two grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Richards of Atlanta, GA. A private service will be held at a later date. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family. GARY DEAN HAMRICK Gary Dean Hamrick, 66, of Shelby, NC, passed away on July 27, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Archie Hamrick; his mother, Ruby Hamrick; his son, Chadwick Hamrick; and his ex-wife, Sandra Franks. Mr. Hamrick is survived by his daughter, Tracy Harper; son-in-law, Justin Harper; three granddaughters; and his brother and wife, Roger and Katie Hamrick and his brother and wife, Joey and Tami Hamrick. The funeral service was held in the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services followed. Please do not send any flowers to the family. Gary would have seen them as a waste of money. Instead, pay your bills, live your life, make memories where they count with your friends and family. Check on loved ones you haven't heard from in a while. He was the son of the late John Samuel and Garva Ella Harrill Blanton. Mr. Blanton served our country in the United States Navy during WWII. In addition to his parents, Bus is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Gold Blanton; three broth- ers, Jesse Blanton, John Blanton Jr. and Ken Blanton; and two sisters, Annette Cline and Bea Ramey. He is survived by three sons, Harrill Blanton Jr. (Tena) of Boiling Springs, John Gold Blanton (Brenda) of Charlotte, Michael Blanton (Leanne) of Fort Mill SC; a daughter, Martha Caudill (Stuart) of Gastonia; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Dedmon of Shelby; sister-in-law, Veva C. Gold of Shelby; and a brother, Bob Blanton. Funeral services were held at Lattimore Baptist Church. Burial with Military Honors followed in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Linda Ann Campbell; daughter, Mary Leann Campbell; four stepchil- dren, Candy Long, Shannon Hamrick, Summer Hamrick and Charity Hamrick; two brothers, Mark and Terry Campbell; sister, Rhonda Campbell; and nineteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was the husband of the late Peggy Owens and son of the late Bill and Lulrhea Ramsey Owens.
