Samuel Kinnaman, Pastor Doris Catt, Reporter Me and regard Me as more essential than food] so that you may live.'" In a time of blight and war, Israel was searching for ev- ery last scrap of available food. They wouldn't rest un- til they had found every last crumb, even though they might not live to eat what was gathered, and it might only sustain them for a day or less. We should be searching for God more diligently than this. We can do so by study- ing and reading His Word, by conversing with Him, in- volving both speaking and listening, by obedient appli- cation of His Word, by walk- ing with Him and looking for Him at work where we are, and joining Him for the plea- sure of serving Him. God sustains us not just for a short time, but for for- ever if we will allow Him. Re- lationships are usually com- plicated, but He thinks you are worth the effort. Are you willing to make the effort to search for Him today? It could be your last today. Or it could be your first real to- day in a forever relationship of todays with God. Today's reading: Proverbs 16:1-3, 9. "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps" (Proverbs 16:9), But in place of that wor- rying, we could, as Solo- mon teaches, grow in simply trusting that God guides us, step-by-step, as we prayer- fully seek Him, await His leading, and yes, allow Him to continually redirect us. Trade anxiety for trust. God will guide your way. Josh Sanders, Pastor Sherry Julian, Reporter WHITE RIVER CHAPEL UMC 3555 W. SR 56 Bowman 812-582-8896 Sunday morning wor- ship 9 a.m.; Sunday school 10 :15 a.m. We are exploring the words in Philippians 4:4-9 and how they can help us thrive in chaos. So many trials come in- to our lives and along with the business of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Mat- thew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? God's order back in- to our lives—a peace that passes all understand- ing—He is in control. Facebook: White River Chapel UMC, Jeff Pinney. Keith Chanley, Pastor "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become ma- ture, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:11-13, NIV ). Jeff Pinney, Pastor The community of Good Shepherd United Method- ist Church exists to glorify God through Jesus Christ our Lord. As a body of believ- ers, we pledge ourselves to al- low the Holy Spirit to develop within us maturity of spirit, unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, so that we may be prepared to share His love, mercy and grace through our words and ac- tions to a needy world. We extend an invitation to the public to come and wor- ship with us. The Good Shepherd takes care of His sheep. Kay Bond, Minister Methodist Nazarene PETERSBURG CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE 118 West Pike Ave. Church 812-354-8851 Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; morning worship and children's church at 10 :30 a.m.; children's and teen ser- vice at 6 p.m.; evening wor- ship at 6 p.m. and Wednes- day prayer service at 6 p.m. Sometimes we feel as if we have no one we can trust. But there is One who is trust- worthy; God is always faith- ful and steady. We need to focus more on praise than on negativity; hope will rise up in our spirit, as we praise our Great King. This is not just a fable or a nice story. It is true. If we aban- don ourselves to God and forget ourselves, we see it sometimes, and we see it maybe frequently. God shows himself everywhere, in everything - in people and in things and in nature and in events. It becomes very obvious that God is every- where and in everything and we cannot be without him. It's impossible. The only thing is that we don't see it. Office hours: 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday. Boyd Heldring, Pastor Amy Melhiser, Secretary OTWELL WESLEYAN CHURCH 2277 N.
