PAWS WEEK PAWS WEEK Pet of the SHOOTER Presented by Roger Willis and Ryan Ficklin davidphelps.com CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF MINISTRY LIVE IN CONCERT FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH 1400 E. Main St., Petersburg www.eternalvision.net ETERNAL VISION Friday, august 2 6:30 pm worship; youth on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m.; Wednes- day prayer meeting at 6:30 p.m. "When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth" ( John 16:13). The moment we receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in your heart. Right now, He lives within us. The Bible says, "If any- one does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His" (Ro- mans 8:9). The Holy Spirit helps us in life's struggles, and we must never forget that. But the Ho- ly Spirit also plays two other important roles we must not overlook. First, He convicts us of sin. The Bible says, "He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and judg- ment" ( John 16:8). While this verse focuses on His convicting power among un- believers, the Holy Spirit al- so convicts believers when we sin. The second role of the Holy Spirit is as Teach- er. The Bible says, "He will guide you into all truth." Just as surely as the Holy Spirit inspired the writers of the Bible, so He will instruct us as we mediate on God's Word. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free and join us for services. I am sure you will leave be- ing blessed. May God bless each and everyone of you.
