The Press-Dispatch Local Wednesday, July 31, 2019 A- 9 The 2019 Pike County 4-H Fair is now a matter of history. The 4-H Council of Pike County, Ind., Pike County Extension Service and Pike County 4-H Program youth extend our sincere thanks to each and everyone who had a part in making the 2019 Pike County 4-H Fair A HUGE SUCCESS! Pike County is where we all live, learn and love. The fair is an excellent example of how community members come together to make good things happen for the entire county. The 4-H motto is "To make the best better." The shining example of the leadership and commitment to the fair will inspire our youth to reach for even higher levels of achievement. Thank you! 4-H GR O WS HE R E Thank you, again! First Abortion Avoidance and Recovery Forum On Tuesday, July 23, Traylor Union Church of God hosted guest speak- ers, pro-life advocates and representatives for wom- en's support networks at their first ever Abortion Avoidance and Recovery Forum. The focus of the forum was empowering women to learn about the wealth of resources and support available to them from ma- ny great people in our com- munity. This event was planned in response to the out- pouring of support that the church received for their grassroots organiz- ing against abortion, which culminated in a public peti- tion published in the May 8, 2019, edition of The Press-Dispatch. The break was near McCoy St. City Services Manager Ross Elmore said it was a four-inch water main that de- veloped a crack. He said it caused the pavement on Highway 61 to hump up. "It was probably easier to control the traffic on Sunday than it would have been during the week." He said it took about six hours for them to get it fixed.
