"God is not the author of confusion, but of peace"(I Corinthians 14:33). Who of us has not asked in times of affliction and difficulty, does God care for me? The Psalmist said "Refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul" (Psalms 142:14). Martha, over con- cerned with her workday duties said to Jesus, "Lord, do You not care? " How ma- ny faithful, loving mothers, overwhelmed by the bur- dens of motherhood, have cried anxiously, "Lord, do You not care? " That question is forev- er answered in those reas- suring words of Peter: "He cares for you" (Peter 5:7). This is the word God. Even if the world passes away, it will not change. You can be confident God cares for you. If He didn't, would He have sent Christ into the world to die for you? Of course not. That is why you can always turn to Him for the strength and encouragement you need. Yes, life can be overwhelm- ing at times. But when it is, remember this: God knows what you are facing, and "He cares for you." If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free and join us for services. I am sure you will leave be- ing blessed. May God bless each and everyone. Jerry "Tuffy" Blackwell, Pastor Sharon Kendall, Reporter GR ACE G.B. CHURCH 1007 E. Meeting tonight at 6 p.m. Thought for the week: "For the time will come when peo- ple will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths" (II Timothy 4:3-4). Be in prayer for the lost, the sick, our church, our country and leaders, and always each other. God's blessings on you this week. Try to be kind and show God's love, because everyone is fighting some kind of battle. If you don't have a church home, we invite you to any of our services. We are reminded time and time again that through Je- sus we have streams of liv- ing water. The Bible also says in these streams of liv- ing water, when we come in- to Christ, the old has passed away and the new has come (II Corinth. 5:17). Let this spring be a re- minder that in Jesus, the bag- gage, burdens and weight of winter can be gone, and the life and light of Christ and give way to new birth. (Ephesians 6:11, NIV ). This scripture is one that gives you courage, strength and even faith to overcome whatever obstacle the devil may throw in your path. God has given us all the tools and protection we need to fight the devil and his plans. One of these things is the Armor of God (Ephesians 6:14-18), which as Christians we are given to help us in our jour- ney through life. With these weapons and protective ar- mor, we can overcome any- thing, but on top of that, when the going gets tough, our father is still there to help us, and guide and pro- tect us. This is one of the most amazing and power- ful gifts that we have ev- er been given. A love that transcends all wrong doing, cares without question and protects even though, more times than not, we don't de- serve it. Remember this the next time you face an obsta- cle, and make your stand against the devil with to- tal confidence and power through God. God bless you and keep you. We welcome you to all services. "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" ( James 5:16). When reading the book of Acts of the Apostles, it is striking to note that these lo- cal assemblies lived in the at- mosphere of prayer. Prayer meetings were the order of the day. They prayed on ev- ery occasion. They prayed for open doors. They prayed for guidance and boldness in their ministry after they had passed through the open doors. They prayed before the battle, during the battle and after the battle. They prayed that God would show them His plan and that He would frustrate Sa- tan's plans. They prayed that God would raise up workers. They prayed in prison, and they prayed themselves out of prison. They prayed in their homes and they prayed in their church gatherings. They prayed in their private circles, and they prayed be- fore the Sanhedrin. They lived on their knees. So mighty were they in prayer that they "turned the world upside down." One of our desperate needs is the revival of the prayer meeting. One of the mightiest manifestations of the spirit in revival power is the resurrection of dead prayer meetings—James A. Stewart. Rick Walburn, Pastor Independent does what is right [by seek- ing Him] is acceptable and welcomed by Him" (Acts 10 :35). The person who fears God, does so more than peo- ple, and will therefore obey Him no matter the conse- quences. Seeking God is part of that obedience. For a relationship to work both parties must be actively in- volved. His involvement was a sinless lifestyle, death on a cross, and being our ad- vocate. What should our in- volvement look like? How hard do we search for Him and His welcome? Denny Wiscaver, Pastor Kimberly Flynn, Reporter
