Poplar Street, Petersburg Deadline: 5 p.m. on Monday BEVERLY JOYCE LUKER Beverly Joyce Luker, 87, of Huntingburg, passed away at 2:19 a.m., Sunday, April 21, 2019, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born Decem- ber 21, 1931, in Stendal, to Roy and Clara (Reller) Kat- ter; and married Robert Lee Luker on August 26, 1950, in Stendal. She worked as a store manager; and was a mem- ber of St. Peter's Luther- an Church in Stendal and St. Peter's Lutheran Wom- en of the Church. She en- joyed sewing, quilting and attending her grandchil- dren's sporting events. She is survived by four children, Gail ( John) Gar- ner, of Greencastle, Debi (Phil) Ohanian, of Hunting- burg, Joyce (David) Boeg- lin, of Terre Haute, and Mike (Michelle) Luker, of New Palestine; one brother, Eldon Katter, of Kutztown, Penn.; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Robert Lee Luker, who passed away on August 24, 2015. Funeral services were at 11 a.m., EDT on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Stendal, with Pastor Ed Wicks offici- ating. Burial followed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Hunt- ingburg and from 10 a.m. un- til service time on Saturday at the church. James Neal Camden, Jr., 72, of Winslow, entered rest on Friday April 19, 2019, at Amber Manor in Peters- burg. He was born on Oct. 26, 1946, in Beech Grove, Ind. He had worked as a custo- dian for 10 years at the East Gibson School Corporation. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marjorie "Brooks" Camden; his moth- er, Deana Camden Sutt, of Petersburg; daughters, Tammy Camden, of Oak- land City, Sarah Camden, of Micanopy, Fla.; son, James Camden, of Winslow; a sis- ter, Lana Pyle, of Coe; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, James Neal Camden, Sr.; brother, Jerry Camden; and sister, Sharon McMullen. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. MARY LAVONNE (DILLON) PRIDE Mary Lavonne (Dillon) Pride, 82, passed away Feb- ruary 20, 2019, in Panama City, Fla. She was born March 27, 1936, in Velpen, to Lloyd E. Dillon and Laura Ruth Dil- lon, and was the oldest of four. Her siblings were Bon- nie, Neil and Glenn. She graduated from Ire- land High School in 1954. She married Royce K. Pride in 1955 and moved to the Evansville area until 2005, after which she and Royce moved to Panama City, where they lived until her death. She was an avid reader and writer, and collected family genealogy. She was a lifelong pianist, and loved many types of music and ballroom dancing. She loved people, especially children, and was naturally generous and well-practiced in her Christian faith throughout her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the LLL Sunday School Class in Panama City, Fla. She worked at many churches throughout her life, as well as the Univer- sity of Evansville Religion Department. She was also a rural letter carrier in New- burgh. She had two sons, Mi- chael (Athina) and Timo- thy (Nancy); and one grand- daughter, Katherine Pride. A memorial service will be Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Harris Funer- al Home, 705 East Walnut Street, Petersburg, with Dr. Larry Bruce speaking. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funer- al home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International Bible Program. MARK ANTHONY "JOE" JULIAN Mark Anthony "Joe" Ju- lian, 65, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indi- anapolis, surrounded by his family. He was born June 30, 1953, to Bob and Bernice Julian. He was a graduate of Winslow High School. He was an avid IU and St. Lou- is Cardinals fan. He played poker every Friday night with the same group of guys for over 40 years. He worked many years in the mining industry, roofing homes and running a mow- ing business. He will be greatly missed by his family. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Pam; his father, Bob; brothers, Larry (Shei- la) and Mike (Debbie); three sons, Nathan (Ter- ri), Adam (Maria) and Jon- athon (Bethany); one grand- son, Oscar; nieces and neph- ews, Claudia (Gary) Love- less, Melissa ( Jeff ) Bryant, Chad (Charity) Julian and Stephen (Kristy) Julian, and their families; and fam- ily friend, Debi Harvey. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice. A celebration of life ser- vice will be at 2 p.m. EDT, Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Jordan Park in Spurgeon. Hatton, 54, of Linton, and formerly of Mon- roe City, passed away sur- rounded by family on Thurs- day, April 25, 2019, at India- napolis. He was born on June 29, 1964, in Monroe City, to Frank and Sue-Ellen (Pilz) Hatton. He was a member of the South Knox Class of 1982, Indiana State Class of 1987, Linton Elks # 866, where he was a trustee and Vincennes Moose #281. He was also a member of the Linton-Stock- ton Chamber of Commerce, having served many years on their Freedom Festi- val Task Force and was the recipient of a Citizen of the Year Award. He was vice-president of Citizen's National/Regions Bank in Linton and was an Agent for Burkhart Insurance in Vincennes. He enjoyed be- ing a basketball referee for IHSA A. Family left to cherish Curt's memory include his parents, Frank and Sue-El- len Hatton, of Monroe City; two daughters, Chondra Hatton and Anissa Hatton, both of Indianapolis; one sister, Susan McFarland, of Monroe City; and one niece. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandpar- ents, Helmuth and Vera Maude Pilz; paternal grand- parents, Sheridan and Res- sie Hatton; and brother-in- law, Matt McFarland. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Anderson-Poin- dexter Memory Chapel in Linton, with J.D. Rose offi- ciating. He was laid to rest in Royal Oak Cemetery in Bruceville. Luker, 85, of Stendal, passed away at 1:50 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at The Waters of Huntingburg. He was born December 8, 1933, to Elmer and Ida (Hagemeyer) Luker. He worked for Holland Dairy, was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Stendal, enjoyed watching I.U. Basketball and Bomb- ers Baseball, and enjoyed being in the outdoors hunt- ing and fishing. He is survived by his nephew and caregivers, Duane and Ann Jones, of Stendal; and by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four broth- ers, Austin, Bob, Paul and Kern Luker; and one sister, Karen Jones. MARY LOU HEMBREE Mary Lou Hembree, 88, died early evening April 1, 2019, in Arcadia, Fla. She was formerly a resident of Princeton. She is survived by sons, Brian (Pam) Hembree, of Arcadia. Fla., and Rich- ard (Karen)Hembree, of Lavonia, Ga.; sister, Ed- na(George) Utterback, of Manchester, Tenn.; son-in- law, Mike Bruce, of Oak- land City; two granddaugh- ters; five grandsons; six great-granddaughters; and seven great-grandsons. NICOLE LYNN ROBLING Nicole Lynn Robling, 35, of Huntingburg, passed away at 2:15 p.m., Wednes- day, April 24, 2019, at Me- morial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born June 12, 1983, in Corpus Christi, Tex- as, to Randy L. Robling and Vickie D. Wirthwein. She attended the Hunt- ingburg United Methodist Church. She is survived by her mother and "poppy," Vick- ie D. and Roger Wirthwein, of Huntingburg; her father, Randy L. Robling, of Otwell; two brothers, Kenneth (Alli- son) Ausland, of Michigan, and Tyler Wirthwein, of Evansville; four sisters, De- ven M. (Kerry) Wininger, of French Lick, LaRae (Kevin) Downey, of Loogootee, Ran- dal (David) Robling, of Jas- per, and Casie (Ross) Smith, of Evansville; her grand- mother, Ruth Varney, of Michigan; her grandfather, John Wirthwein, of Hunting- burg; and by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. PHYLLIS R AE BECK Phyllis Rae Beck, 89, of Marion, formerly of Oak- land City, went home to be with Jesus on April 23, 2019. She was born on May 22, 1929, in Oakland City, to Is- sac and Hassie Johnson. She lived and raised her family in Oakland City for 86 years. The past three years she lived with her daugh- ter, Kathy, in Marion. She attended the Trinity Unit- ed Methodist Church. She had a passion for her fami- ly, her home, working in the yard and taking care of her flowers. She was married to Wal- ter Beck for 49 years. They had three children, Dennis Beck, Randy (Laura) Beck, of Oakland City, and Kathy (Mark) Sanders, of Mari- on; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; hus- band, Walter Beck; and son, Dennis Beck. Services were at 1 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2019, at the Lamb-Basham Memo- rial Chapel, with Rev. SANDR A JANE (FITZGER ALD) ARMES, Sandra Jane (Fitzgerald) Armes, 59, of Patoka, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville. She was born on Septem- ber 20, 1959, in Daviess County, Ind., to Kenny Fitz- gerald and Mary (Evans) Fitzgerald. A fter growing up in Da- viess County, she moved to the Patoka area. She mar- ried Jeff Armes on August 18, 1979, and they were blessed with almost 40 years together. She worked as an office manager at Dr. Lawlor's office for 27 years until retirement. She then went on to work as a teach- er's aide at the Intermediate School. She was a member of Hillside United Methodist Church, and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Girl Scout Camp Director. She is survived by her fa- ther, Kenny Fitzgerald; be- loved husband, Jeff Armes, of Patoka; two children, Morgan (Tommy) Gam- mons, of Princeton and Mar- cus Armes, of Patoka; six grandchildren; and a niece. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Fitzgerald; and a grandson. A funeral service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Hillside United Method- ist Church in Princeton.
