Stk#17314B SAVE $ 7,563 IN TOTAL AVAILABLE DISCOUNTS SAVE $ 5,280 IN TOTAL AVAILABLE DISCOUNTS SAVE $ 15,565 IN TOTAL AVAILABLE DISCOUNTS up to Vectren crews replacing gas lines in the area Crews working for Vec- tren Energy Delivery ( Vec- tren), a CenterPoint Ener- gy Company, have begun the process of replacing gas mains and service lines in Petersburg and through- out the state as part of the company's pipeline replace- ment program, which is a multi-year program to re- place about 1,200 miles of bare steel and cast-iron pipe- line infrastructure in nearly 75 cities or towns in Indiana. This year, 26 cities will be impacted, and crews will re- tire 80 miles through a near- ly $51 million investment. "To ensure the continued reliability of our natural gas pipeline systems and ser- vice, Vectren continues our program to replace essen- tially all of our bare steel and cast-iron pipeline infrastruc- ture in Indiana," said Rich- ard Leger, vice-president of Natural Gas Distribution, In- diana and Ohio. "These in- frastructure enhancements are vital to meeting federal requirements and ensuring safe delivery of natural gas service to our customers for decades to come." The following cities will be impacted in 2019: Ander- son, Bedford, Bloomington, Chesterfield, Columbus, Crawfordsville, Dublin, El- wood, Evansville, Frankfort, Greenfield, Hagerstown, Huntington, Knightstown, Lafayette, Marion, Mar- tinsville, Muncie, Parker City, Petersburg, Richmond, Rushville, Terre Haute, Tip- ton, Vincennes and Wash- ington. Visit the Active Projects tab on www.vectren.com/ pipelinereplacement to view an interactive map display- ing all existing or upcom- ing work in each city. This map is updated regularly as new projects come online. Replacement work is prior- itized based on pipeline as- sessment and leak repair da- ta as well as the opportuni- ty to minimize the construc- tion impact to the affected city. These additional cities, which have not previously had replacement work, will be impacted in the com- ing years: Albany, Arcadia, Cowan, Daleville, Dunkirk, Farmland, Frankton, Gas City, Gaston, Milton, Mar- kle, Markleville, Mt. Sum- mit, New Columbus, No- blesville, Oakland City and Shideler. In most cases, a polyethyl- ene (plastic) system is being installed to replace the cur- rent bare steel and cast-iron gas pipeline system. First, the gas main, which is a gas pipeline that ranges in size from 2" to 8" and is often un- derneath the street or side- walk, will be replaced with- in the right-of-way, and then the service lines running di- rectly to homes and busi- nesses will be replaced. Up- on completion of the project, affected yards, sidewalks and streets will be restored. "Construction for these pipeline projects may take several weeks to complete, and times may vary based on the size of the project, weather, ground surface/ soil and other situations that may arise," said Leger. "Please be assured that Vec- tren and its contractors will make every effort to com- plete each project as quick- ly as possible and minimize impact to customers and the community." Prior to service replace- ment, a Vectren representa- tive will contact customers to provide an overview of the required work. Vectren reminds residents to please keep the following in mind: · Exercise caution when driving through the con- struction zones. · We urge residents and their children to keep a safe distance away from any work zones. Since 2008, more than 700 of the 1,200 total miles have been replaced in Indi- ana, which has led to a re- duction in leak calls and nat- ural gas emissions from the distribution system. The re- duction in natural gas emis- sions aligns with Vectren's pledge to replace cast iron and unprotected steel nat- ural gas mains at a rate of five percent, or roughly 42 miles, per year as part of the Environmental Protec- tion Agency's Natural Gas STAR Methane Challenge Program.
