Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each oth- er, just as in Christ God for- gave you." (Ephesians 4:31- 32, NIV ). Sometimes forgiving is hard and being compas- sionate to that person even harder after whatever hap- pened. Remember that God forgives and loves all, no matter their wrongs. Think of the worst thing in histo- ry someone has ever done. Do you know that God still loves and would have or did forgive that person? As you can see, that is a love that knows no bounds. As Chris- tians, we should strive to give that type of love freely since we received it freely. But more so because it is our compassion and willing for- giveness that can show oth- GOSPEL CENTER CHURCH Independent Baptist Church 420 E. So many trials come in- to our lives and along with the business of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? We do not find hap- piness and joy in every day. Yet, when we are in need, or when we are in plenty, God is with us. Philippians 4:4 says, "Rejoice in the Lord always." We can rejoice because we are not alone, and God is there when life is the hard- est. He is always with us in times of happiness and cele- bration. So glad to serve the God who will never leave us. Let's rejoice. One individual's life will never be the same as their life was given over to Jesus, born again. Many rededicated their lives unto Jesus, and many were physically and spiritu- ally changed. I thank God for the time of refreshing. I pray that many of God's children realize it's time for revival in our lives and in our churches. May revival fire begin to burn in our churches again and the harvest come in. In God's Service. The next meeting will be April 13 with Jeree Slaven as the guest speaker, start- ing at 1 p.m. CDT. If you were to receive a let- ter from someone you love, you would read it over and over. You would want to un- derstand every word. Yet there is a love letter that sits on a table in most of our homes day after day. It's sel- dom opened, let alone de- voured. This man loved us so much He allowed Himself to pay the debt for our sin. We say we love Him, but we won't even read enough to learn what He likes and dis- likes. So, do we love Him, re- ally? If so, let's read His let- ter. Ron Vickers, Pastor Elaine Young, Reporter, 1- 812-749 -1122 (leave a mes- sage). CHURCH NOTE DEADLINE 10 A.M. Our doors are always open to you. Any good dish, book, mov- ie or sermon needs a good theme. So does a good life! That's why a personal mot- to or mission statement is helpful. William Carey's was "Expect great things from God; attempt great things for God." Joan of Arc's was "God must be served first." And St. Paul's was "to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him cruci- fied." If the heart does not have a noble or godly theme, then it develops an anti- theme. What noble theme can you live by as you live for Christ? Office hours: 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday. Boyd Heldring, Pastor Amy Melhiser, Secretary HUNTINGBURG HOLINESS CHURCH 813 N. Feeling a bit in- secure about what God had for him to do, he was asking the older preacher for some advice. The older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed PETERSBURG WESLEYAN CHURCH 9th and McCoy, Petersburg Pastor 812-632-0773 Sunday morning worship 10 :30 a.m. You are invited to worship with us. Richard Comer, Pastor the young preacher a rose- bud and told him to open it without tearing off any of the petals. The young preacher looked in disbelief at the old- er preacher and was trying to figure out what a rose- bud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the will of God for his life and ministry. But, because of his great respect for the older preach- er, he proceeded to try to un- fold the rose, while keeping every petal intact. It wasn't long before he realized how impossible this was to do. Noticing the younger preacher's inability to un- fold the rosebud, without tearing it, the older preach- er began to recite the fol- lowing poem...It is only a ti- ny rosebud, a flower of God's design; But I cannot unfold the petals with these clum- sy hands of mine. The se- cret of unfolding flowers is not known to such as I. God opens this flower so easily, but in my hands they die. If I cannot unfold a rose- bud, this flower of God's de- sign, then how can I have the wisdom to unfold this life of mine? So, I'll trust in God for leading, each moment of my day. I will look to God for guidance in each step along the way. The path that lies before me, only my Lord and Savior knows. I'll trust God to unfold the moments, just as He unfolds the rose— Au- thor unknown. We invite all of you to come and worship with us. Roy Stilwell, Pastor Pam Lemond, Reporter
