CALENDER Second graders will be participating in a nutrition program call My Plate. It will be presented by mem- bers of our local co-op, April 4, 11 and 18 Early Release Dates: 3, 10, 17 and 24 April 1 – First Day back af- ter Spring Break An informational meet- ing will be held in the Pike Central band room at 7 p.m. for parents and students to receive specific informa- tion as to how the band pro- gram runs, what your stu- dents schedule will be like, and information on how to acquire an instrument for your student April 4 – There will be Kindergarten Round-up screening for Petersburg and 5 students that will be 5 years old on or before Au- gust 1. Please call ASAP to schedule a time for your child's screening if you have – not done so. Current Pre- K students still need to sign up! April 5 – Monthly perfect attendance for March April 8 -12 – Kindness Week Monday- Spread Kind- ness throughout the nation, wear red, white, and blue, STAFF wear Kindness T- Shirt Tuesday- Crazy for Kind- ness-wear crazy, mis- matched clothing and socks Wednesday- Dream of Kindness-wear pajamas Thursday- PES kids are KIND kids-wear your BE shirts Friday- Score points by showing kindness-wear your favorite sports team, STAFF wear Prevent Abuse T-Shirt Assembly on Friday at 9:00 Otwell Miller Academy Students placed string around their circles, then measured the string to find the circumferences. Next, they measured the diameters of their circles and used both measurements in a ratio to find PI. The students worked very hard and their results were either 3.14 or very, close to it. Kadence Garland, Tyler Mason, and Cooper Hartley, fourth grade students of Mrs. Kim El- liott work with LEGO WeDo software. This pro- gram gives students hands-on experience to ex- plore STEM concepts.
