Dale, Indiana www.SchumMonuments.com 812-937-4921 Local Representative RONALD WOODS 812-789-2009 BARBAR A ANN BENJAMIN Barbara Ann Benjamin, 88, of Campbelltown, passed away on Thursday, Decem- ber 6, 2018, at Amber Man- or in Petersburg. She was born July 16, 1930, in Pike County, to John Lester and Lucille Easter (Soderling) Wood. She married John William Benjamin on November 26, 1949. Despite the demands as- sociated with being a wife and mother of four, she earned a registered nurse degree from Vincennes Uni- versity in 1972. She worked at area physicians' offices, clinics and at Oakland City Hospital. A fter retiring, she volunteered for sever- al years with Pike County Hospice. She enjoyed her flower gardens, visiting with fam- ily and friends, her birds, caring for her pets and nu- merous neighborhood ani- mals, and reading. She was happiest when spending time with family, especially her beloved "great-grands." She was a dedicated, life- long member of the Winslow General Baptist Church and was one of the most thought- ful and caring members of her community. She is survived by two children, Andrea (Steve) Messmer, of Jasper, and Steve ( Jane) Benjamin, of Bloomington; five grand- children, Natalie ( Jason) Mills, of Winslow, Abigail (Chris) Vinnedge, of Sten- dal, Beau (Anh) Benjamin, of Carmel, Stephanie (Bri- an) Hatton, of London, En- gland, and Jonathon Benja- min, of Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.; and seven great-grand- children, Jaylon and Brai- ley Mills, Tessa and Tuff Vinnedge, Braeden and Harper Benjamin, and Ben- jamin Hatton. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; sons, Tim and Bill (Benjie); sisters, Mary Schwingham- mer and Elaine Dauben- speck; a brother, Richard; and a grandson, Gary. Visitation was at the Winslow General Baptist Church from 9 -11 a.m. Mon- day, December 10, 2018, with a service that followed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winslow General Baptist Church. Her family would like to thank the many kind and profes- sional employees at Jasper Memorial Hospital, Amber Manor and the Pike County libraries who cared for her. CHARLES EDWARD BURCH Charles Edward Burch, 91, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018, at his home, surround- ed by his family. He was born in Winslow on November 7, 1927. He went to Otwell High School and honorably served in the United States Army after World War II in Guam. He was a supervi- sor for Industrial Contrac- tors and oversaw structur- al steel erection in the Unit- ed States. He was a member of the Local 103 Ironwork- ers. He was a faithful mem- ber of North Park Wesleyan Church. Since retirement, Charles enjoyed fishing and golfing with his son, Brian. He loved traveling, especially to Mag- gie Valley, N.C. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He had a knack for making every- one feel special. His daugh- ters remember never leav- ing their home without him saying, "Call when you get home safely." He will be missed greatly. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Irma (Cape- hart) Burch, of Evansville; his children, Brian (Deb- bie) Burch, of Evansville, Kristi Klein, of Evansville, Carmen (Tom) Hauschild, of Ft. Branch, and Amy (Mike) Helfert, of Evans- ville; sister, Juanita White- head, of Otwell; brothers, Cary (Deb) Burch, of Vin- cennes, and Dana ( Janice) Burch, of Birdseye; broth- er-in-law, Donald Dorsey, of Indianapolis; grandchil- dren, Kim Adkisson, Suzae (Bill) Flick, Brandi Burch, Jordan Klein, Hannah Klein, Dr. Seth ( Julie) Hauschild, Ben (Ashley) Hauschild, Caroline Hauschild, Andrew Hauschild, Ethan (Pamela) Helfert and Bailey Helfert; and eight great-grandchil- dren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ber- tha (Trezise) Rainbolt; his father, Orville Burch; step- mother, Mae (McDaniel) Burch; son-in-law, Marc Klein in 2017; grandson- in-law, Gary Adkisson; sis- ters, Jane Elizabeth Burch, Lorene Dorsey and Patricia Braun; and brothers, Elmer Burch, Maurice Glen Burch and Orville Ray Burch. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, De- cember 12, 2018, at Brown- ing Funeral Home, 738 Dia- mond Ave., Evansville, with Pastor Brian Sorensen offi- ciating. Burial will follow at Otwell Cemetery in Otwell. Visitation was from 2- 8 p.m. on Tuesday and will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the fu- neral home. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Dan) Scott, of Oakland City; sons, Michael (Kris) Stolz, of Fay- etteville, Ga., and John (Lin- da) Stolz, of Oakland City; daughter-in law, Doris Stolz, of Oakland City; son-in-law, Rick Mahan, of Princeton; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She now joins her hus- band of 66 years, Alphonse Stolz; and beloved children, Terry Stolz and Monica Ma- han in rest. A celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. on Wednes- day, December 12, 2018, at Friendship General Baptist Church, with Rev. Jonathan Scott officiating. Russell, 29, of Winslow, entered rest Wednesday Dec. 5, 2018, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Evansville. She was born on June 2, 1989, in Washington. She was employed at Tri- go-Pic at Toyota. (Hunt) Phillips, 89, Oakland City, peaceful- ly entered rest surrounded by family on December 6, 2018, at RiverOaks Health Campus in Princeton. She was born July 13, 1929, in Gibson Co. to Pur- ley and Mary Opal (Clem) Hunt. She was employed by Richardson Lumber Com- pany, Oakland City Bank, Farmers National Bank of Princeton, and Wilder & Sons. She enjoyed cross stitching, baking pies and cakes, working in her flow- er beds, bowling, and visit- ing her family and playing with her grandchildren. BET TYE ROSE STOLZ Bettye Rose Stolz com- pleted life's work and en- tered into eternity on Friday, December 7, 2018, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City. Born on November 2, 1928, to Robbie (Aesop) and Bert Yeager, she learned early on the value of work- ing hard and caring for oth- ers. Years later, she proudly took on the role of farmer's wife and homemaker to her husband and five children. Not only was she dedi- cated to her family, she al- so had a servant's heart to those around her. She was a Pink Lady at Wirth Hospi- tal for over 25 years, a mem- ber of the Oakland City Pub- lic Library Board and a well- known seamstress through- She is survived by chil- dren, John Phillips, of Princ- eton, and Karen (Maurice) Kidwell and Lori (Pat- rick) Mason, all of Texas; five grandchildren; sever- al great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Hunt; and ma- ny nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; her sisters, Edith Cusick, Dorothy Utley and Elizabeth Elliott; and broth- ers, Arthur, Glenn, Roscoe, Clarence and Donald Hunt.
