Bill, Steve, Linda, Katy, Lano- ra, Benny, Jerry, and many more stars we may know; those with allergies and that seasonal cold; then the aches and pains of everyday life. The Winslow area has lost two of our stars this past week, Ernie Johns, who passed on November 11, and Greg Sim- mons, who passed on November 13. To the families and friends of these fine stars, remember all the great times you had and share your memories with others and more memories will come your way. The Winslow Patoka River is up, and at one time it had overflowed because in Logtown there is a yard that has wa- ter so bad that the chicken pens had to be moved. Ice, snow and rain has been seen and felt in the Winslow ar- eas this past week. If you like the win- ter wonderland picture, last week was the shot. It started off with sleet then light rain that didn't help out because the temps were below freezing, but by the morning hours the snow had cov- ered all the icy areas but the streets, in parts, were drivable. Fri- day was the day where all of the glistening beauty either dropped like rain off the trees or fell down in long, slender hunks like limbs. They were beautiful as they fell to the ground, and by the afternoon hours all the beauty was melted with higher temps for a few more days. We had the pleasure to have known Sherry who needed a place to stay un- til she found a place to live with her shy cat, Blackie and in a short time she has found her a place. It was a tasty Turkey with all the trimmings plus that tasty pumpkin pie as Norm and I were invited to Dee's house for friends to enjoy each oth- er's company and great food. Yes, we stuffed ourselves from some fine cook- ing. Our neighbor Wayne has had his daughter, Shante and granddaughter, Kaydence come and stay for a while. We heard that Kyana had gotten some glasses and then we saw her pic- ture with the red framed glasses on, and they match her red hair. She is such a beautiful young lady, our grand- daughter. I saw in the paper where the Salva- tion Army needs bell ringers at Dol- lar General and Petersburg Hardware, and if you would like to help, contact Cal Biddle at 812-582-2385. Then the Christmas in Hornady Park also needs people, and if you would like to help out in this fine event contact Jim Gidcumb at 812-582-1657. On Sunday, November 25 the Winslow Lions will be setting up our display for the Winter Wonderland, and if your group or individual would like to set up your Christmas display, you can join us there at 2 p.m. at the old Bertram Feed Store by the old bank parking lot. All displays will be seen on December 1 after the Christmas Parade. Thanksgiving Day is November 22, and we wish everyone a safe and hap- py visit with family and friends. Have fun also as you eat, laugh, talk, hug those loved ones and be thankful for what you have or don't have. So as the lights dim on this week, keep an eye on family and friends, slow down, and en- joy your area. Always smile, wave, and say Hi to everyone you see this week. THE DEADLINE FOR ALL REAL ESTATE ADS IS 5 P.M. EVERY MONDAY
