Ed Cahill photo Three arrested on drug charges Thursday By Andy Heuring Three people were ar- rested on meth-related charges early Thursday, August 2 after police ob- tained a warrant to search a house south of Winslow. Maxwell Church, 26, of Winslow, was charged with possession of meth less than five grams, a lev- el 6 felony; unlawful pos- session of a syringe; main- taining a common nui- sance; possession of para- phernalia; and possession of marijuana. Janessa Nicole Moore, 33, of Winslow, and Zach- ery D. McEllhiney, 32, of Princeton, were arrest- ed on charges of posses- sion of meth less than five grams, a level 6 felony; un- lawful possession of a sy- ringe; visiting a common nuisance; possession of paraphernalia; and pos- session of marijuana. According to a prob- able cause affidavit, Pe- tersburg Police Cpl. Jared Simmons obtained infor- mation about drug activ- ity at Church's residence and obtained a search war- rant. He and State Trooper Chase Eaton, C.J. Boeck- man, Pike County Depu- ty Mike Willis and Buck Seger went to the resi- dence to conduct a search at about 3 a.m. Thursday. Cpl. Simmons said he and several other offi- cers knocked on the door of the house and then en- tered it to find McEllhin- ey sleeping in a back bed- room. Deputy Seger lo- cated Moore and Church in a detached garage. All three were detained while the search was conducted. Cpl. Simmons said in the living room of the house, police found several snort tubes with a white resi- due the field tested posi- tive for meth, a corner bag- gie with white powder in it that field tested positive for meth, digital scales, a marijuana smoking bong and a set of forceps with a marijuana roach still clipped in the forceps. In the dining room, they found a container with about 10 syringes, some loaded, a glass smoking device with a burnt resi - due in it which field test- ed positive for meth, three clear plastic corner bag- gies with a white residue in them. In the kitchen re- frigerator, police said they found a loaded syringe un- capped sticking up in the open. In the back bed- room, where McEllhiney was located, police said they located an uncapped syringe and a corner bag- gie with crystal-like sub- stance in it that field test- ed positive for meth. They also located two more sy- ringes and a snort tube, as well as a pair of digital scales in a red Jeep in the garage. Following the search, all three were taken into cus- tody.
