St. Rd. 57 Petersburg Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; morning worship at 10 :30 a.m.; Sunday eve- ning Bible study at 6 p.m. The church is located south of Petersburg on State Road 57. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God" (Matthew 5:8). Continued from page 3 Too many times in my life, I have allowed myself to be taken from God's path, be- cause I worry about stuff. These are the times that I most need God in my life. However, I get lost because I focus on the wrong things. Reading this scripture re- minds me that I need to keep my heart focused on what is good and pure, and then I will truly see God as He is working around us. David Walton, Pastor Hope Barnett, Reporter PETERSBURG CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE 118 West Pike Ave. Church 812-354-8851 Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; morning worship and children's church at 10 :30 a.m.; youth meeting and children's service at 6 p.m.; evening worship at 6 p.m. and Wednesday Bible study at 7 p.m. Pastor Warren shared thoughts on the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5:10 - 12. If we really follow Jesus, we will be harassed and per- secuted, and people will not like us. How do we respond? 1. Recognize the source of harassment is a spiritual bat- tle from Satan. Stay deep in God's Word. 2. Refuse to retaliate. Re- pay no one evil for evil—Ro- mans 12:17-19. 3. Rejoice. This affliction is temporary—II Corinthi- ans 4:17. 4. Remain faithful—I Pe- ter 4:12-13. Respond as Christ did. Upcoming activities and services: • The church is planning to take a trip to Lark Ranch on Friday, October 13. Meet at the church at 5 p.m. Cost will be $ 8 per person.
