Long Island University, B.A.; Widener University, J.D Why did you choose this/these particular areas of practice and when did you know this was what you wanted to do? When I fi rst started practicing law here in Las Vegas, in 1977, I put a shingle out and took any kind of case that walked in the door – divorce, real estate, personal injury, criminal. What are some of the things in this area of the law that have captured your atten- tion? I found that I really enjoyed the personal injury cases. I liked representing the underdog against big insurance companies and drug companies. Around 1983, I was the fi rst attorney to start advertising on television – in English as well as Spanish – and billboards for those cases, and began handling them exclusively. Briefl y, what has been the most interesting case you've been involved with? I have been involved with many high-profi le cases in Nevada, but I would have to say the most in- teresting would be the hepatitis outbreak case at the Endoscopy Clinic. My fi rm obtained one of the highest verdicts in Nevada history: $104 million. What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given? "The happiest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least. What is the most rewarding part of your job as an attorney? Obtaining fairness and justice for injured and disabled people. " — Interviewed by Howard Riell Courtesy photo
