Great book and easy for teens to relate to! A brilliantly executed film! A must see summer flick! Cast of 'Pitch Perfect 2' goes above and beyond viewers' expectations 641 Main Street • Downtown Red Bluff 'Pitch Perfect 2' is the sequel to the 2012 film 'Pitch Perfect'. Number 2 was released May 15, 2015. The cost of the movie was 29 million, but made 112.5 million in box office. The movie stars the original cast of 'Pitch Perfect' (Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin, Rebel Wilson, anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Ester Dean, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee, Adam DeVine) along with Hailee Steinfeld and Chrissie Fit. The Bellas are back during most of the girls senior year. After a slip-up while performing for the president the Bellas are restricted from performing and having auditions for new girls. At her first year at Barden, freshman Emily Junk desires to be a Bella and will do anything to get it. She eventually does and then they are on their way to become world champions. The Bellas soon encounter what is now their enemy, Das Sound Machine (DSM). The bellas practice everyday to beat them in Worlds. bellas tour. Another would be when the girls go to find their sound because it's a big bonding experience. Though there were many wrong performances during the time between worlds and the beginning, it is all settled out and worlds when the girls show what they've got. 'Pitch Perfect 2' is a great movie for students who may be scared to enter college as well as those who just want it for fun. The movie was amazing and it carried on the story very well. Viewers will absolutely adore everything about the movie and the ties it has to the first. It is a must see for summer and all year round. There has already been talk about a third and possibly final movie but directors have not said anything final. The acting in this movie was phenomenal again. The actors and actresses maintain their individual personalities throughout the whole movie. The production is amazing as well. It's not one of those cheesy movies with the terrible backdrops and such. You can tell that everyone on set took their time to make things perfect. There were also no messups. In some movies, I have noticed you can tell somethings are fake or maybe the microphone is in the top corner. Most movies in the past 10 years haven't had these mishaps, but it's still good not to see them. There were many important events throughout the movie. The slip up with the presidents show started off the big problem that caused DSM to take over the Kiera Cass' 'The Selection' is the chance of the lifetime for 35 lucky girls. Prince Maxon has finally come of age and a Selection is being held to find his future wife. For most girls this is the perfect opportunity to leave behind their lower castes and forge a better future for themselves and their family, but not for America Singer. America has everything she could ever want at home, a wonderful family, a great career and a secret love named Aspen, who is in a lower castle. America refuses to even fill out a form to put herself into the drawing for the Selection, that is until Aspen convinces her otherwise. The day before her name was called for the Selection, Aspen breaks up with America saying he could never provide for her the way he wanted to. So America goes to the castle expecting a stiff, uptight, jerk for a prince and ends up finding someone she actually likes. 'The Selection' by Kiera Cass was a wonderful book full of romance and the struggle of an ordinary girl. The plot was amazing and seemingly well planned out, it kept me well entertained. While the plot was good, the characters lacked good development and the main character frustrated me to no end. She was wishy washy and her personal views changed constantly. In many ways America reminded me of a real teenage girl, just one I didn't care for. While some characters were underdeveloped, I overall liked the book's plot and the love triangle that seemed to ravage America's life. "...the movie takes yet another sharp turn into a different genre..." What should have been a humorous and semi- action movie was actually disappointing despite the talented and comedic actresses and stars of 'Hot Pursuit', Sofía Vergara and Reese Witherspoon. C o o p e r (Witherspoon) is a police officer who followed in her father's footsteps; Daniella Riva (Vergara) is a drug lord's wife. When drug cartel leader Vicente Cortez, played by Joaquín Cosio, is arrested, one of his men, Felipe Riva, played by Vincent Laresca, agrees with the police that he and his wife (Vergara) will testify against Cortez and help send him to jail for good. Cooper and a detective (her partner on the case) are assigned to escort the Riva's to the court house safely. In short, things go from bad to worse—from trying to keep too many shoes, to almost getting shot (numerous times). Eventually, Daniella and Cooper end up on the thrill with only each other and a few random "accomplices" along the way. The film starts to take a turn into a romance/feel-good movie as the girls bond and laugh along as they narrowly escape their misadventures and meet attractive "accomplices." However, the movie takes yet another sharp turn into a different genre: action. Without spoiling, it can safely be said that Cooper is a confusing mix of gun-shy and trigger-happy. This all being said, I can definitely say that Hot Pursuit was pretty difficult to keep up with and was also quite random. Daniella's backstory was extremely confusing because she kept changing it to confuse Cooper. Once the audience assumed she trusted the cop, Daniella would change up her perception of her new "friend." Due to the hilarious commercials, I went into the movie expecting to laugh the whole time. I was throughly disappointed, especially when the film turned into a "rom-com." Overall, I would not recommend this movie to anyone looking for a story that you can actually follow. On May 15, 2015, 'Mad Max: Fury Road' struck movie theaters all around the U.S. 'Fury Road' is the fourth movie into the excitement of the 'Mad Max' series. It's a two hour, rated R movie that is a fantasy/ science fiction film with plenty of action in it. The director for the Mad Max series is, George Miller who was director to other famous movies. Miller really is a brilliant producer in this series, 'Mad Max: Fury Road' is a beautifully strange, violent and thrilling cinematic composition that proves Miller's talents. This incredible film stars famous actors such as, Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, and Nicholas Hoult. If you haven't got to see the movie yet, I strongly suggest you do. Fury road goes back into years after the collapse of civilization, the tyrannical immortal, Joe, enslaves apocalypse survivors inside the desert fortress the Citadel. When the warrior Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) leads the "warlords" five wives in a daring, and not the first escape, she forges an alliance with Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), an independent and former captive. Protecting themselves against their attack in the massive armored truck the War Rig, they try to outrun the ruthless warlord's henchmen in a high-speed, deadly chase through the Wasteland, while fighting off enemies along the way. This movie was extremely exciting and I loved how they even added in a little romance to spice up the viewer's attention. Rockatansky and Furiosas tough love connection throughout the movie makes you anxious the whole time waiting for just the right time for them to show their affections toward each other, and once Furiosa gets wounded, Rockatansky isn't hesitant about giving up his blood for her. Another big character throughout the film was the "The Doof Warrior." He was the man playing a solo rock concert from a f lamethrower guitar as he hangs midair from a speeding vehicle, throughout the whole war. He was definitely one of the highlights of the movie, even before "Fury Road" was released into theaters, the guitar man was one of the most exciting parts of the films trailers. With all that being said, 'Fury Road' is definitely not one of the movies you want to miss out of the whole 'Mad Max' series. http://collider.com/ 'The Selection' provides a good read 'Hot Pursuit' equals one hot mess The Bellas are back in 'Pitch Perfect 2' and are competing for the world championship, despite previously placed performance restrictions. 'Mad Max: Fury Road' sparks elation amongst audiences
