Best Multiple Picture Group/Category 20 First place Fatal Jordan Kartholl The Star Press (Muncie) Comments: A fantastic example of brilliantly composed photos that tell a story and convey strong emotion. An easy choice for No. 1. Second place Fire Jeremy Hogan The Herald-Times (Bloomington) Comments: It's one thing to get good action shots from breaking news such as this. It's quite another to capture the emotion from the scene and how it affects all the people involved. Third place Re-enactment Chet Strange The Republic (Columbus) Comments: Mostly impressed with the edit that goes beyond the actual re-enactment and goes behind the scenes. The image from the swing set was hilarious and well-done. Third place A team bond that had no color Ryan Dorgan The Elkhart Truth Comments: Engaging story told well. Division 5 Katherine Wooten collapses seconds after her son, 3-year-old Clayton Carnes, died in a house fire. Fire- fighters were able to quickly contain what was described as a sudden and intense fire that consumed the one-story structure. Wooten, a man who was also in the home and a 14-month old child were able to escape the home with non-serious injuries. The 2014 Invitational Orchestra conducted by Eric Jarboe performs during the String Orchestra Invita- tional at the Commons in Columbus.
