Pike Central swimmers split with Jeeps By James Capozella Charger swimmers gar- nered 14 first-place finish- es at North East Dubois this past Monday night, as the girls bettered the Jeeps 97- 54. The Charger boys fell by a score of 74-66, with four in- dividual firsts and two win- ning relays. The Pike Central girls were first and second in both the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay, but were DQ'd in the 400 free. Maddy Riley, Emma McK - inney, Jenna Meyer and Jil- lian Bailey had a winning time of 2:16.30, and Avery Hunt, Shelby Keeker, Taylor Oswalt and Kayla Gladish teamed for second in 2:27.14. Jillian Bailey, Maddy Ri- ley, Emma McKinney and Addy Russell combined for a 2:05.72 to win the 200 free relay. Kayla Gladish, Ella Ad- ams, Shelby Keeker and Tay- lor Oswalt teamed for second in 2:18.56. The 400 free re- lay team of Avery Hunt, Ad- dy Russell, Maddy Riley and Emma McKinney had a win- ning time but were DQ'd. Al- so DQ'd at the meet were div- ers Tessa Vinnedge, Mor- gan Sallee and Trent Zim- merman. Six individual firsts were claimed by the Lady Char- gers, including Addy Rus- sell, Taylor Oswalt (2), Jil- lian Bailey (2) and Em- ma McKinney. Addy Rus- sell took first in the 200 free (2:38.17), with Gabby Collins fourth (2:57.10) and Ella Ad- ams fifth (3:03.29). McKin- ney clocked 1:25.80 to win the 100 breast and Keeker was second in 1:34.22. Oswalt won the 200 IM in 3:20.72 and Morgan Sal- lee was third in 3:56.03. Os- walt also took the 100 fly in 1:28.67, with Sallee second in 2:04.39. Bailey claimed the 50 free win (28.64), with Av- ery Hunt second (31.33) and Keeker fourth (33.98). Bai- ley also won the 100 back in 1:12.28, with Maddy Riley second in 1:13.32. Avery Hunt was second in the 100 free (1:11.12), with Addy Russell third (1:12.57) and Kayla Gladish fourth (1:12.88). Gabby Collins swam a 7:42.59 to second in the 50 free. Charger boys won the 200 and 400 free relays, and Draven Readle, Isaac Bur- dette and Michael Burkhart each took first place finish- es in individual events. Isaac Burdette, Cobey McKin- ney, Michael Burkhart and Draven Readle won the 200 free relay in 1:53.58, and the team of Burkhart, Wyatt Luff, Cobey McKinney and Readle nipped NE Dubois for first with a 4:13.44 clocking. Burdette won the 100 breast stroke in 1:17.92. He also added a first in the 50 free (26.09), with Trent Zim- merman fourth (33.13). Rea- dle was first in the 200 free in a time of 2:13.52. Burkhart claimed first in the 100 fly, clocking 1:15.68. Wyatt Luff was second in the 200 IM in 2:53.84. Readle took a sec- ond in the 500 free, clock- ing 6:13.95. Luff placed sec- ond in the 100 back in 1:16.79 and Max Burkhart was third in 2:02.55. The team of Luff, Bur- dette, Cobey McKinney and Michael Burkhart placed second in the 200 yard med- ley relay, about a second be- hind the Jeeps by clocking 2:08.78. DNR seeks input on proposed wildlife rule changes The DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife is seeking public comment on proposed wild- life rule changes. Those changes include up- dates to rules regarding legal equipment for turkey hunt- ing, muzzleloaders for deer hunting and beaver trapping season starting and ending times. For a complete list of proposed amendments with additional information about each proposal, see wildlife.IN- .gov/2362.htm. There are three ways to comment on the proposed changes.
