Obituaries bertis w. falls Bertis W. Falls, 79, of Oakland City, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. He was born on January 23, 1934, in Pike County, to Adam and Golda (Harris) Falls. He was an Army veteran during the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of UMWA. He had worked at Old Ben I coal mine and coal mine construction. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Angela (Ham) Falls; daughter, Michelle (Curtiss) Genco, of Petersburg; sons: Ronald Myers, of San Bernardino, Calif., Wayne (Susan) Myers, of Arthur, David Roe, of Evansville, and Darrell Falls, of Oakland City; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a broth- A-3 Wednesday, May 22, 2013 er, Donald Falls, April 28, 2013. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, with Rev. Jim Gidcumb officiating. Burial was in Knights Chapel Cemetery. Oakland City, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Sterling House of Bloomington. She attended Forsythe Methodist Church in Oakland City. She is survived by a daughter, Karen, and a son, Rodney, both of Bloomington. She was preceded in mildred spaw death by her husband, GilMildred Spaw, 93, of bert, in 2006. Bloomington, formerly of Funeral services were at 2 p.m. (CDT) Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Charles Gipson officiating. Burial was in Forsythe Cemetery, Oakland City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forsythe Methodist Church.
