American Cancer Society 'Walk around the clock' Dedicated residents will camp out overnight and walkers will go around the clock in the battle against cancer, when the 15th annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Daviess County gets underway at Lena Dunn Elementary (Washington) beginning at 6 p.m. on June 14. Relay For Life is a family friendly activity that raises funds to support the American Cancer Society's mission to save lives. Everyone is invited to this inspiring event to witness the cancer survivors in our community as they celebrate their victory over the disease, remember those who have lost their battle, and fight back against the nation's number one health concern. Now is the time to form a team of your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors. Or just stop by and see what Relay is all about. There's no registration fee or charge to attend and there is something for everyone—especially entertainment for the kids. "While many people are familiar with the research efforts of the American Cancer Society, few are aware of all the free services available to cancer patients and their loved ones thanks to the fundraising efforts of those who participate in Relay," said Ryan Rigg, community representative for Daviess County Relay For Life. These services can be obtained through one easy call to the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345. Relay For Life not only has a large local following, but it is also a global phenomenon as the world's largest grassroots effort to fight cancer.
