Jack and Martha Pipes will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 21. Joe and Bette Coomer were out driving around last Sunday and stopped and said "hi" to Matt and Jill Embree and also stopped at Jill's father's, Jim Kolb, who came out to talk to the Coomers and show them the sheep. Joe and his coffee drinking buddies all met at a restaurant in Princeton last week. So far, Joe and his wife, Bette, have found three Eagle's nest with babies in Gibson County. Rick and Nancy Wheatley picked up their grandson, Malcolm, a few days last week after school. On Thursday, they went to Vincennes and had lunch and then went shopping. Rick and Nancy went to Princeton on Friday to meet up with one of their granddaughters, K aela Kell, and have lunch with her before she had to go back to work. Nancy also reports that another granddaughter, Josie, was appointed "Princess for the Day" at Disney World in Florida on Friday afternoon. Josie's family is there on vacation. They also went to Evansville on Saturday to do some shopping and then had dinner at a local restaurant there. On Sunday morning, they went to Vincennes for breakfast and then do some shopping. Holly Young had surgery on Tuesday and is home and doing better. Terry and Carol Hightower have had their daughter, Kristi Edwards, and grandson, Matthew, visiting from Michigan. While here, they went to Evansville, Jasper and Vincennes. Matthew was also able to play with his friend, Brett Stover, one evening at home and spend time at Hornady Park. Sharon Kramer and Kendra Dewig had lunch at a restaurant in Princeton last week. Charlie and Betty Jo Wright went out to dinner to local restaurants several times last week in Vincennes. Betty Jo had a successful surgery on her left knee on Thursday and is convalescing at home, taking it easy. Lt. Dennis Marshall retired from the Indiana State Police, after giving 34 dedicated years of service to the Indiana State Police and to the communities in which he served. Vera Potts visited with Betty Cain in Princeton on Monday afternoon. On Wednesday, she visited with Violet Burkhart. On Thursday, she attended the visitation for Frank Tolbert at Colvin Funeral Home. Rita McGuyer, on Monday and Thursday, joined her daughter, Tisha Jewel, in Vincennes for lunch at local restaurants. On Tuesday, she had lunch with Sue and Patty Schultz in Princeton. Later, she went to Lincoln High School to watch her granddaughter, Bailey, play softball. She attended the REMC meeting at Lincoln High School last Saturday with her sister, Faye Junklin. On Sunday, she went to Mesker Park Zoo to attend the birthday party for two of her great-great-grandchildren, Jozie and Carter Wautelep, who both turned one.
