Blaize, 86, of Petersburg, died at 10 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Petersburg, January 17, 1927, to Fred and Ida B. (Steward) Blaize. He was a lifelong farmer and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Petersburg Free Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Ruby (Lane) Blaize, of Petersburg; two sons, Bill ( Janet) Blaize, of Petersburg and Brian (Kathy) Blaize, of Washington; a daughter, Linda (Tom) Ewer, of Petersburg; four brothers, Bob Blaize and Jim Blaize, both of Petersburg, Frank Blaize of Colorado Springs, Colo. and John Blaize of Brooksville, Fla.; a sister, Mary Schatz of Bicknell; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. His parents; three brothers, George, Leonard and Cork Blaize; and two sisters, Edna Mae Blaize and Naomi Parker, preceded him in death.
