The guardian ad litem is the person who helps eval- uate children's living sit- uations to hopefully place them under the right guard- ianship in legal matters where guardianship might be disputed. Council member and po- lice officer Derek McGraw said the council would want to move quickly to approve the move. "I've been on that board and they can't do with- out that position," he said. "There are too many under- served kids already anyway. We can't have a gap at all." The position is paid part- ly by grant and partly by the county. The council voted unan- imously to fill the position when it becomes vacant. WAX MUSEUM GOT SCHOOL NEWS? Email: egnews@pressdispatch.net SUBSCRIBE TODAY!
