It will include vendors sell- ing hot chocolate, soup and kettle corn. Santa will be in the Santa house from 1 to 4 p.m. Following the parade, there will be a Christmas tree lighting cer- emony on Eighth St. and they will name the winner of the merchant Christmas decoration contest. On Sunday, December 8, Santa will be in his San- ta House on Eighth St. from noon to 3 p.m., with live reindeer there from noon to 2 p.m. Breakfast with Santa The Petersburg Delts Alumni Chapter is spon- soring Breakfast with Santa from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church Fellow- ship Hall. Along with Santa being there to talk with children, they will be offering free donuts, milk, juice and coffee. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Christmas in the Park Christmas in the Park will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. ever y night through New Year's Eve. Mrs. Claus will be at the Peter Brenton cabin from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday nights December 8, 15 and 21, as well as December 22. If someone would like to volunteer to help greet and take donations at the gate, they can call Jim Gidcumb at 812-582-2657 for the open dates. A Night at the North Pole The Pike County 4-H Council is sponsoring a free "Night at the North Pole" event from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 7 at the 4-H Building in Hornady Park. Activities include photos with San- ta, cookie decoration, candy cane crafts, games, hot chocolate and more. For more information, call Kara Willis at 812-354- 4973. Salvation Army bell ringers The Pike/Gibson Salvation Army is looking for bell ringer volunteers in Petersburg. Join the tradi- tion that started in 1891. If you would like to ring, contact Cal Biddle at 812-582-2385. Volunteers are needed all day on Fri- day Dec. 6 at the Dollar General Store and on Satur- day, Dec. 7 at Petersburg Hardware. They ring from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EriCreations Light Show EriCreations is presenting a free nightly, mu- sic-synchronized light show at the corner of 5th and Walnut streets in Petersburg from dark to 10 p.m. nightly. The show is a 15-minute loop that includes five family friendly musical numbers. WINSLOW The Christmas parade is set for 10 a.m., with line- up beginning at 9 a.m. It starts at the Winslow Fire Department and proceeds to Main St., then goes north to the Winslow Little League park. Winter Wonderland, sponsored by the Winslow Lions Club, is set up in a Christmas scene at the former Winslow Town Hall is runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 7; 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 14 and 1 to 3 Coat Wrap The Second Annual Coat Wrap is scheduled for Saturday, December 7 in Winslow. Last year, they put out 85 winter coats of all sizes and types on light poles and traffic signs in Winslow. Anyone in need of a coat was able to look over the coats and take one. Debra Lamb said anyone wanting to donate a coat can do so by dropping them off at The Corner Book Shoppe, located Lafayette and Main sts., across the street from the Post Office. Lamb said the organizer wishes to stay anony- mous, but the Book Shoppe will get the coats to the organizer. Mouse House The Mouse House, sponsored by the Winslow Beautification Committee, will be at the Nazarene Church Fellowship Hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sat- urday, December 7. The Mouse House has items priced from $1 to $10 for kids to purchase inexpen- sive gifts for friends and family. OTWELL Breakfast with Santa at the Otwell Community Center is scheduled for 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 7. Santa will be there to talk with chil- dren and they will be ser ving donuts and juice. OMA Christmas with the Kringles The Otwell Miller Academy grades 1, 3 and 5 will be performing OMA Christmas with the Kringles beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17. The Lil Hoosiers Preschool will open the program with songs. OAKLAND CITY Oakland City University's annual Christmas Con- cert is scheduled for 8 p.m. EST at the Recital Hall in Cornwell-Reed Fine Arts Center. The University Choir and OCU Jazz Band will perform a variety of Christmas music. Student con- ductors will lead the choir, as well as a smaller cho- ral ensemble. Vance Hays and Carolyn Spitler will perform four-handed piano duets. Admission is free. If you can't get in the Christmas spirit this weekend in Pike County you might want to make sure you aren't turning Grinch green. Both the Winslow and Petersburg Christmas parades, Breakfast with Santa in Petersburg and Otwell, and a host of other activities are set for Saturday.
