The weather has shifted courses and has turn to the cool fall temperatures. There is still much to be looked at in the ag industry with certifica- tion programs and looking back at what the 2019 year has brought. There will be a Private Ap- plicator Recertification Pro- gram (PARP) in Pike Coun- ty on November 20 from 6 -8 p.m. at the Pike County 4-H Building. The program will offer recertification cred- its for private applicators as well as Continuing Certifica- tion Hour (CCH) in Catego- ry 1, 14, and RT. The topics for the event will cover Stor- age Grain Pests Manage- ment, Drone Crop Scouting, Personal Protective Equip- ment (PPE). Remember to bring your private or com- mercial applicator card with you to register for credits. Pike County Exten- sion participated in an ar- ea wheat test plot in both Warrick and Knox County for 2019. The Knox Coun- ty plot was planted at the Southwest Purdue Agricul- ture Center (SWPAC). The trial consisted of 23 differ- ent varieties from six differ- ent seed companies. The re- sults from the Knox County plat are in the table below.
