Sutton, 88, of Mon- roe City, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2019, at BridgePointe Health Campus. He was born August 31, 1931, in Knox County, to Amos and Cecil (Gott) Sut- ton. He retired from Johnson Controls and was a 1949 graduate of Monroe City High School. He was offered a scholarship to play bas- ketball at Indiana Universi- ty, but chose Western Ken- tucky instead. He was part of the Monroe City basketball team that won the Wabash Valley Tournament and was the recipient of the Dr. Er- nest O. Nay Sportsmanship Award, as well as being the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Surviving are his chil- dren, Tim ( Judy) Sutton, of Monroe City, and Todd (Theresa) Sutton, of India- napolis; a sister, Betty Sand- erson, of Oatsville; and two grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Dona L. (Evans) Sutton; and his brothers, Frank Sut- ton, Junior Sutton and Bob- by Sutton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Novem- ber 13, 2019, at Goodwin Fu- neral Home, with Dale Biehl officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the fu- neral home. Memorial con- tributions may be made to the Wabash Community Church. ALICE MAE MILLER Alice Mae Miller, 95, of Newburgh, formerly a long- time resident of Pike Coun- ty, living in Velpen and Stendal for much of her life, passed away on October 29, 2019, at The Village of Ham- ilton Pointe in Newburgh. She was born May 8, 1924, in Cannelton, to Armond and Lillian (Meyer) Young. She married Ovle Gene Miller on March 16, 1943; and he passed away on March 21, 2002. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Marcus ( Janice) Miller, of Newburgh; one daughter and son-in-law, Tracy Lynn (Gregg) Vosler, of Delaware, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Rita Miller, of Shoals; her young- er sister, Arlene Barrett, of Otwell; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grand- children. Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald Gene Miller; one brother, Charles Young; and two grandchil- dren, Heath Kalb and San- dy Ann Kalb. Graveside services for Al- ice Mae Miller will be at 1:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, No- vember 23, 2019, at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Velpen. Condolences may be shared online at www.nas- sandson.com. CONNIE K. STURGEON Connie K. Sturgeon, 75, of Petersburg, entered rest on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Feb. 26, 1944, in Oakland City, to Hugh and Lucille Willis. She was married to George Larry Davis on De- cember 22, 1961. He preced- ed her in death on October 23, 1973. She then married Denzial Ray Sturgeon on February 5, 1976. She was a member of Pe- tersburg Church of the Naz- arene. She is survived by her husband, Denzial Stur- geon; her children, Kim (Phil) Young, of Oakland City, Kelly (Steve) Cook, of Petersburg, and Todd ( Jody) Davis, of Petersburg; sister, Ann Crow, of Petersburg; brother, Greg Willis of Mo- rocco, Ind.; grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Kram- er, McKenzie (Seth) Wool- sey, Kullen Cook, Brady Like, Chase Davis, Zoey Davis and Mason Young; great-grandchildren, Daxyn Kramer, Bladyn Kramer, Ian Woolsey, Meadow Kramer, Milah Kramer, Aiden Wool- sey and Jepplyn Kramer; and several nieces and neph- ews. In addition to her first husband, she was preced- ed in death by her parents, Hugh and Lucille Willis; and brothers, Elwood Willis and Richard Scott Willis. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. CST on Monday Nov. 11, 2019, at Oakland City Church of the Naza- rene, with Reverend Darin D. Nossett officiating. ELDON LOUIS DEDRICK Eldon Louis Dedrick, 86, of Jasper, formerly a resi- dent of Velpen for 45 years, passed away at 2:32 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at The Timbers of Jasper. He was born October 14, 1933, in Pike County, to Aar- on Lee and Bessie Marie (Grubb) Dedrick. He married Inza Mae Meyer on February 21, 1959, at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Parsonage in Sten- dal. He served in the Unit- ed States Air Force during the Korean War, and lat- er retired from Leeds Sell- ing Tools. He enjoyed fish- ing, hunting, spending time with his family and collect- ing toy tractors. He is survived by his wife, Inza Mae Dedrick, of Jas- per; two daughters, Robin (Gary) Traylor, of Velpen, and Jennifer (Tony) Bless- inger, of Jasper; one brother, Frank (Peggy) Dedrick, of Jasper; two sisters, Judy Pat- terson, of Jasper, and Sharon Kovacs, of Bedford; one sis- ter-in-law, Virlee Dedrick, of Jasper; four grandchil- dren; and five great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by his parents; three broth- ers, Glen, Richard and Wil- liam Dedrick; and two sis- ters, Mary Lou Polen and Carolyn Friedman. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. EST on Friday, No- vember 8, 2019, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, with Pastor Ed Wicks officiating. Condo- lences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com. ETHEL M. CONLEY Ethel M. Conley, 96, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. She was born Jan. 1, 1923, in Otwell, to Herschel and Monta Marie (Hayes) Sul- livan. She was a retired Pre- cision Inspector at Potter and Brumfield in Prince- ton, where she worked for 33 years. She had lived in Prince- ton since 1963, moving there from Oakland City. She at- tended the Francisco Unit- ed Methodist Church. She was an active Red Cross vol- unteer for many years. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Young at Heart in Oakland City and the White Shrine in Evans- ville. She is survived by two grandsons, Nick (Debbie) Hallinan, Jr., of Camaril- lo, Calif., and Sean (Rob- in) Hallinan, of Waukee, Io- wa; granddaughter, Angela Lynn (Dave) Dickerson, of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Olivia G. McCool, of Lafay- ette; eight great-grandchil- dren; six great-grandchil- dren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; hus- band, John "Mo" Conley, in 1986; daughter, Linda Con- ley Dunbar, March 30, 2019; sisters, Dora Lee Sullivan, Barbara Judith Sullivan and Phyllis Rose Harper; and brother, Dennis Sullivan. She was born on May 8, 1935, in Cato, to William Al- va and Ruby Imogene (Sel- by) Barnett. She married Donald Craig Whitehead on March 23, 1957 at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Cato. She was a 1953 graduate of Otwell High School. She went on to graduate from Deaconess School of Nurs- ing as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Jasper Me- morial Hospital and retired from a 39 -year career as a school nurse in the Pike County School Corporation. She was a life-long member of the Otwell United Meth- odist Church. She loved to read, trav- el, sing in the church choir. She also loved music, the- atre, a good joke and to go on outings with her closest friends. She loved being a grandmother and was proud of each of their accomplish- ments. She also embraced the country life, supporting her husband in farming for over 60 years. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Don- nie; her children, Terri Whitehead, Mitch (Sally) Whitehead and Dave (Ali- cia) Whitehead; grandchil- dren, Jordan (Bobby), Al- ex (Laura), Hayley (Zach), Ben (Rachel) and Zach (Ril- eigh); and one great-grand- child, Joelle Grace. A Celebration of Life was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Novem- ber 9, 2019, at the Otwell United Methodist Church in Otwell, with burial to fol- low in the Otwell Cemetery. HUNTER REID GREULICH Hunter Reid Greulich, 25, of Evanston, died on Thurs- day, November 7, 2019. He was born on Septem- ber 23, 1994. He was a graduate of Heritage Hills High School (2013) and University of Northwestern Ohio (2015). He was united in marriage to Nicole Wittman on May 18, 2019, at the Lincoln Boy- hood National Memorial. Hunter worked as a Field Service Manager at Crown Lift Trucks of Evansville. He enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR races, spending time with friends and family, and getting his hands dirty on work proj- ects. He is survived by his wife, Nicole, of Evanston; parents, Mark and Karla, of Dale; sis- ter, Myriah, of Dale; grand- parents, David and Shannon McKinney, of Winslow; and Nicole's parents, Larry Wit- tman, of Evanston, and Ar- lene Wittman, of Dale. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kirsten Elise; and grandparents, Glenn and Eleanora Guth, and Keith Greulich. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. CST/11 a.m. EST on Thursday, No- vember 14, 2019, at Mary Help of Christians in Mari- ah Hill, Ind., with burial to follow in the Dale Cemetery. He was born on December 26, 1933, in Petersburg, the son of James Franklin and Lu- la (Frentress) Foster. He married Margaret Gen- evieve Foster and she preced- ed him in death. He then mar- ried Vernadine Zigler. He had been a pastor for several churches and retired from Knoxville Wesleyan Ho- liness Church in Knoxville, Ohio after serving there 25 years. He enjoyed yard work, painting and getting togeth- er with family and sing- ing. He also enjoyed church functions, as well as church camps. Survivors include his wife, Vernadine Foster, of Shoals; his children, Robert Luther Foster, James Palmer (Tra- cy) Foster, Patricia Ann (Keith) Maser, William Eu- gene ( Jan) Foster, Sharon Kay (Roy) Ackley, Doris Mae ( James) Myers, Janet Sue (Diego) Gutierrez, Larry Ray (Cheryl) Foster, Esther Lou (Pete) McMaster, Debo- rah Lyn ( Joel) Newton, John Alan Foster, and Mary Beth (Kevin) Brett; sisters, Dor- othy Benge, Gettie Daffron and Mary Small; 40 grand- children; 38 great-grandchil- dren; and two great-great grandchildren.
