When will we stop believing the lies of the enemy that cause us to not walk in what God has already made avail- able to us? At times we can sound like beggars on the street instead of children of the Most High God. He has provided us with everything we need that pertains to life and godliness (II Peter 1:3). He has made a way for us to have access to His heav- enly throne room (Matthew 27:51). Remember when Esther took her life in her hands by just entering into the throne room of the king (her hus- band). She could have been killed for entering unin- vited (Esther 4:11). How much more of an honor is it to have access to walk bold- ly into the throne room of our Creator, the One True God(Hebrews 4:16). He has already taken sick- ness, disease, poverty, sin, and death from us. He has defeated our enemy without us even having to lift a fin- ger. Sound familiar? Read II Kings chapters 6 and 7. The choice is yours. Believe and receive or back down and live below what Jesus al- ready paid the price for you to have. Check location and time for upcoming events, www. livingfc.org. "Forgiveness has two sides that are inseparably joined: the forgiveness each of us needs from God, and the forgiveness we owe to other human beings. Ma- ny prefer not to face up to the fact that God's forgive- ness and man's are forever linked. Jesus warned us that if we want the Father's for- giveness, there is only one way to get it: Start the flow of forgiveness between heav- en and earth by forgiving our brother from the heart"— Catherine Marshall. Jeff Pinney, Pastor PETERSBURG FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH 801 East Walnut Petersburg 812-354-6658 Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world Sunday worship at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday school at 10 :45 a.m. Scripture lesson for Sun- day, Nov. 17: II Thessalo- nians 3:6 -13. Sermon Title: "Birds of a Feather." Paul worked hard to estab- lish Christianity in the Gen- tile world and in cities like Thessalonica. Imagine his disappointment when the converts began to misuse the teachings to become la- zy, to act in ways that made the church the laughing stock of the city. When he writes to the worshiping congregation, he does not question the faith of those who did not act in ways Paul felt appropriate. Instead Paul calls on those who would fol- low Christ to follow his be- haviors and to be good ex- amples not only to others in the church but to the total community. Which raises a good question: What kind of example are you? "Birds of a feather….", if those in the church act just like the rest of the world, what good can our message of salvation have to a world that doesn't see any value…because we are just the same as every- one else. Let's talk about it this coming Sunday. Michael (Mike) Punke, Pastor PETERSBURG FREE METHODIST CHURCH 202 E. "We will never be able to finish expressing our grat- itude for all God's wonder- ful deeds. But we can start with a sincere thank you through our prayers. We can nurture a lifestyle of grateful worship, praising God and acknowledging all He's done and all He prom- ises He'll do"—Xochitl Dix- on. What would you like to thank God for on this day He's made? How can writing down prayers of thanks help us cultivate a spirit of grati- tude in all circumstances? I will say, that I am glad to have this Book in my life. It gives me hope beyond what this world can give. It al- so gives me a hope beyond this world. So I'm not see- ing that as a bad thing. Get one and read Revelations, then, compare it to what is going on now. Just a book? I don't think so, but if that is what you want to believe, only the Savior can change your mind.
