AREA HAPPENINGS Petersburg Senior Citizens Center - The senior citizens center is open from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in the Pike County Courthouse basement. A big meal is served on Wednes- day, and the second and fourth Tuesday a lighter meal is served following Bingo, donations accepted to help with the cost. Everyone is welcome. Patoka Valley Quilt Guild met June 5 By Joyce Beck The monthly meeting of the Patoka Valley Quilt Guild was June 5 at the Fer- dinand Community Center with President Ann Primus presiding. President Ann welcomed everyone. She read a Thank You note for the donation they made to the Ferdinand Library. She announced that the Helping Hands Shop Hop in Southern Indiana will be June 20 -June 23 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. There will be a Row by Row expe- rience from June 21 through September 5. She will be there by 9 a.m. and will have room ready by 9:30 a.m. Retreat Chair, Ann Jor- den, announced that the Montgomery retreat is June 22-June 24. If anyone wants to help set up, she will be there by 8 a.m. The Saint Meinrad Retreat will be Oct 12-Oct 24. Cost will be the same as last year. Ann will have forms at the August meeting.
